I wonder if they actually used the Violins "in Tromba Marina" for this recording. I was only able to find out that they actually used chalumeux (Salmò in Vivaldi's spelling).

I will be honest never heard of a Tromba "Marina" before, so I wouldn't know this specialised question :P A underwater Trumpet maybe..?

@@TheOneAndOnlyZeno No, the Tromba Marina is actually a string instrument! It's made of a single string, playing only harmonics... I don't know what exactly Vivaldi meant with Violini in Tromba Marina, probably a small instrument with just one or two strings.
