Its an issue of privacy and potential risk exposure. The discussion shd not be centred around demarcating identifier vs authenticator. While the latter demarcation may be possible in the digital realm, in non-digital interactions, e.g. police still use NRIC to identify AND authenticate an individual otherwise whats the point of carrying an ID. It is not clear cut across the board that unique identifier isn't an authenticator at the same time! Singaporeans have been paying huge to clowns in power!

Taking attendance at Skills Future courses: The attendees' full name (as in his/her NRIC) AND the last 4 digits of their NRIC are projected on the whiteboard/screen for the whole class to see. I asked the trainers: why show such personal details in front of the class? my concern is that we are strangers in the class, we dont know who may sell these personal data to the dark pool. Trainers said they agree and will feedback to Skills future, but so far no changes hv been made, our full name n NRIC are still displayed for all to see. I suggest that, For displaying attendance on the white screen, we only need 1) first name & 2) last 4 digits of Handphone number. I hope the Skills Future team can review this to safeguard our personal data.
