since he's subsisting the gradient *[slope]* in the equation && the y && x co-ordinates into the equation y = mx + c ,, which is point - slope form . there's only difference of slope in both parallel && perpendicular equations .

Because there are two way to find and write the equation of straight line one by slope intercept form and the 2nd is by point slope form ..... it depand on the value of m , the given point and the line if it is perpendicular or parallel to a given line ....you can search about that if you want...

How come when you had ([-3]=-4/3[8]+B)3 you multiplied the -3 by 3 but not the 8?

He did it to cancel out the 3 as the denominator. That's why afterwards, it was just -4 x 8, because he took away the 3 in the bottom. If you had multiplied -4/3 and 3/1 (how it's usually multiplied in fractions) you would have been left with -12/3. -12/3 simplifies to just -4. So by only multiplying out the denominator he's still left with the same answer. If it confuses you just multiply add a 1 to the denominator and work through the whole problem!
