thank you for explaining it like this. I kept getting confused on my hw because some questions would word the question like "if the solution in the cell is higher" and other questions would word like "if the solution is lower" its all just very confusing but you made it simple no matter what way it is worded.

As a ninth grader, it's taking me twice to understand this. So is it okay or i'm a slow learner ? Also I wanted to ask that you were saying, SOLUTE concentration outside the cell (meaning the medium or in which solution the cell is placed in, right ?) and SOLUTE concentration inside the cell. So it is always the solute which passes ?? And through which ?? Diffusion or osmosis ?? And are the membranes of the cell should always be selectively permeable if only solute passes ?? because permeable allows the transfer of both solute and solvent and semipermeable allows only solvent and selectively permeable allows selected SOLUTES so ?? Please answer.

first of all it says 0.1 m nac1 inside the cell and 0.01 M outside the cell. The water inside the cell is salty water so it has a lower concentration of water and the water outside has a lower concentration of salt so higher water potential. I think he was talking about water
