I’ve known about Rhythm Heaven for almost a decade now but I’ve never gone out of my way to check out all the songs due to lack of reason and interest, well uh, safe to say I’ve missed out. i remember playing rhythm heaven megamix and for years there was only 2 games i couldn't perfect - final remix and lockstep. and, even after all the failed attempts and sitting and grinding through hours, it NEVER stopped being fun to try. finally beating it after picking up the game some time ago was incredibly rewarding.

there’s a lot of visual comedy across the series, especially in individual mini-games. Remixes do it as well, but i unfortunately couldn’t showcase everything. would recommend watching a playthrough of Rhythm Heaven from streamers such as Grayfruit or Timotainment!

the Rhythm Heaven franchise is one that I discovered back in 2023, and man, am I so glad I found it. This game alone has helped make Rhythm games my favorite game genre. The memories of buying Rhythm Heaven for the DS last september, coming home from school, and then beating the game in just a few days are just great. Not to mention me getting Rhythm Heaven Fever on Dolphin emulator earlier this year, raging at Remix 3 and 7, and then going absolutely bonkers when I beat Remix 10 after about 40 attempts, AND getting a superb on it the first time I beat it. Not to mention me getting a superb on Rhythm Rally 2 after so many attempts, being the last one I needed to get all superbs. I now only need 12 more perfects in Rhythm Heaven DS before I 100% the game. It's crazy how much this franchise means to me after only having experienced it for a year. Thank you, Tsunku and Nintendo, for making an absolutely goated franchise. Everyone really wants Rhythm Heaven to return soon, but I disagree, because it was clear that Megamix was supposed to be the sendoff they wanted. And man, is Final Remix a great way to sendoff the series, even if Megamix as a whole is far from the best game in the series. But also, fuck you, Nintendo, for DMCAing Heaven Studio. And thank you, for making a video on this beloved franchise in 2024, it always makes me happy to see this niche nintendo franchise get some love. Funnily enough, I am actually currently working on the script for a video ranking every game in Rhythm Heaven DS, so this video definitely gave me the motivation boost I needed to make some more progress on it!

I actually got Rythym Heaven for the DS (but kinda 3DS since I play it on that) recently for my mom (a total rhythm heaven fan girl, at least since I was born.) and me, and I actually SUPER agree with you on some. Remix 8 and Remix 6 is a banger, but I also personally like Remix 7 because of the music. Other than my likings, this list is so by the most superior I’ve seen. Good job! Don’t get me wrong, I love rhythm heaven, but the one thing that bugs me is that manzai birds were replaced. That mini game could’ve been so fun and I don’t think mr upbeat comes close. In mr upbeat you just tap A to the beat, not hear little puns and slap screaming birds. And the fact that mr upbeat is rehashed from tengoku. I know it wasn’t available everywhere but still. Basically, I think they should’ve spent a bit more time translating it all, and maybe a lil story to say they originally did shows in Japan if it still doesn’t make sense, but the games are still really well put together looking past that. Amazing video as well btw

completely agree. however, even though most RH fans prefer Manzai over Mr. Upbeat, i’ve heard RH fans say that Mr. Upbeat works more than Manzai in the context of Endless Remix, which is interesting. also, thanks for enjoying the video :)
