Get ready for a wet and stormy adventure!
For this trip, Luke is out for a camping trip with budget camping gear and shortly after making it to camp, thunder begins to boom in the distance.
This is a wet, stormy and foggy trip; get some coffee ready and kick back and enjoy!
Gear List for this Adventure :
After receiving countless messages from viewers about supporting the channel through Amazon, I have begun using Amazon Affiliate links in the Adventure Videos and if you choose to purchase one of these products via these links I will receive a small commission which will help fund future honest reviews and adventures.
The channel remains as it always was, 100% Agenda Free with no sponsored videos, no paid reviews, and I don't care if you purchase these products or not; you won't find affiliate links in review videos only in adventures.
I'm going to do my best to put gear lists into all of my videos since everyone is asking for them all the time.

By far, I am not a camper anymore. Last time I went tent camping, I think I was 16 years old! I am now in my late 50s and stuck in a wheelchair. Watching your videos, I imagine my self, where you are...experiencing what you experience. Brings back wonderful memories! Thank you :)

I don't know if you realise the sheer standard of journalism you bring to the table here. You have a sense of integrity that is getting increasingly difficult to come by in this day and age. When it comes to the "reviewing stuff" sphere of things I consider you the gold standard when it comes to credibility and independence from financial pressures. You manage to do this while also making some of the most beautiful, relaxing, educational and all-around wholesome videos I have seen. Keep up the good work!! (PS: You should check out a Finnish youtuber called Ali Leinio, I am sure you will absolutely adore him if you don't know about him already.

I worked in production out of college, and all I can think is: set up the shot, start the camera, run back on the the trail, walk past the camera, walk back to the camera and retrieve it. Walk on and repeat. Hats off, man - that is so much thought and work and energy into creating a great final product.

That smoke bug repellent reminds me of my childhood. Used to be drive-in theaters would sell those in a spiral shape with a little metal stand. You would light it up, put it on the dashboard, and be able to enjoy the movie with the windows rolled down. At that time I lived across the river from New Orleans.

I am new to the channel, and the thing I like about the videos are that Luke makes you feel like you are right there camping with him. I can watch for hours. I get my 15 seconds or 20 seconds of Zen, when he shows the views or listens to the rain on the tent. Great work Luke, wish I knew you in person. What a great friend you must be.

But instead stopping, taking the drone out, set it up, adjust settings, film the part, land it, packing it in and moving on 😳 And after 20 minutes of footage the battery is empty, so I imagine it to be not a good solution. Maybe I am wrong, I don’t know much about drooooones 🚃🚃🚃

Yay! Less expensive but serviceable gear! Right up my alley! Sure, I'd love to get gear I could use for a generation. Nothing better than tried and true gear. I stumbled upon a little 2 man tent at an army surplus store that I got for 30 bucks. I've used it for at least 15 years until the poles broke. I bought repair poles, but never fixed it. I still have the little blighter! It got me through a tornado touch down near my tent, and some high winds during winter that bent the tent down almost to the ground. Small is strong!

Bibimbap is kind of a savory leftovers dish. Bowl of rice mixed with whatever proteins and vegetables you have. Add sesame oil, soy sauce and gochuchang and you’re in business. You can also make specific types without the leftovers. The red spicy sauce is gochuchang, a fermented red pepper. Your local Target and Walmart should carry it.

Nice vid Luke. Im wondering if you could highlight food and drink that is not individually wrapped in plastic. When I camp, I use re-usable containers and bags. I realize you are trying food that people send you, but before all this individual wrapped portions were the norm, we used to pack our food and coffee ourselves. Thanks for considering this idea.

The advice on gear selection was excellent and would behoove newcomers to listen and practice it. I loved this adventure and appreciate all you and Susie do for the outdoors community. I remember when Walmart stocked Lithic gear and that it did not last and recall Lithic items being returned to Customer Service. I would chuckle and think, yeah, Luke was right. Five hundred bucks is a helluva bargain for quality gear.

I carry a hot Thermos of coffee (4 cups) with me when camping to start things off. Yes, I'm a coffee achiever, and giving a cup of coffee to a newfound friend along the trail is akin to offering gold. Once a fellow traded me a bunch of venison jerky for a cup of hot coffee. I always pack extra instant coffee for such occasions. Hot coffee on a rainy day does wonders to keep warm inside and the damp feeling at bay. Buy budget but do not buy cheap.

I like how one man’s opinion can make a company pull their defective product. Makes me feel warm inside. The little man’s voice is finally being heard. 😉👍

Never heard of a sweat bee until a few years back. I got stung by one and had an allergic reaction for several days my hand swelled up and could not use my fingers. Sweat bee are no joke!

They truely love yo get down your shirt to find the tender out part to bite too. It usually happens to me when bathed in sweat while working vigorously in the yard. I see them all the time chasing each other, and eating white flies. They actually help to keep bad bugs away, but they tax you too!

Another enjoyable camp , that gear does look good, and that is reasonably priced. No fire this time... but I always enjoy the rain. 👍

So true about investing in good gear. We bugged out last weekend because we got a dangerous wind warning, up to 130km/h (70mph), I had no concerns as my tarp and hammock are top quality. My two girls were using budget gear that I was concerned wouldn't handle the wind. Still, had they the sme kit as me I would still have bugged out; a pine forest with lots of potential widow makers is no place for anyone let alone teenagers in hammocks.

I was steered away from isobutane stoves. We always used liquid fuel and the stoves of choice were multi fuel. We usually had an aircraft nearby, or a vehicle. Or the enemy had an aircraft or a vehicle we could borrow from. They are heavier, but they work when it real cold and at high altitude. The stove of choice was MSR multi fuel. Was noisy but it worked. I'm in the process of converting my mind to butane. The gear is easier to change than your mind. Nice video. Thanks
