I have one of this since 2010! It's the best EDC multitool... lightweight, just put in your pocket. If I go out without my Skeletool, is just like I'm naked! There is a very important detail in this multitool...you can open the blade with only one hand! It is very, very useful... In my backpack, I have the Leatherman WAVE, more complete, but more heavy and much less portable than SKELETOOL. I'm sorry about any mistakes in English...I'm trying to improve...I'm from Brazil.

great vid, I'm a welder and mechanic and I love this tool , personally my favorite, I think a bit more of the driver set and pliers ,excellent fit and pliers are very precision , on micrometre a perfect fit ....I can cut a hair with the tip of pliers....... so good I bought another ,and I usually make my own tools, great tool for low price

Ive had the Skeletool for about 3 years and I have to agree with this review, really useful tool to have around for those unexpected jobs. My main criticisms of it are, firstly the blade, its simply to short for a lot of jobs and really, they could of easily made it 2 or 3 cm longer without making the over all tool longer. Considering it only has one blade its a fairly major negative. Also it has a few small cut outs in the blade and this means bits of food get stuck in them and in the small hole hard to remove. The other minor annoyance is where the screw drive bit sits, it cuts into the hand at times when doing some thing heavy with the pliers. I still give it a 8 out of 10 overall and will have this for a long time unless they bring out something the same size with a blade length that is the full length of the handle.

They cost around $100 in Australia now. (Start of 2018.) It is strange how he ignored the 99 cents - some marketing whizz knew something about psychology - we all fall for it; but surely if you are making a video, you would be more aware!

Anthony Ryan I saw a Aussie mob on ebay selling them for $89 but if you type in a code you get a 20% discount (so about $72ish). I'm going to buy a Charge ALX or Surge (bigger but cheaper) from them.

Still at the Home Depot for 29.99 Christmas 2016. Nice review of the Skeletool. I have a Super tool 300 great tool i use almost 2-3 times a day at work. Got the Skeletool about two months ago I EDC the Skeletool in my front right pocket I don't notice it when hanging from the pocket clip which is a big thing for me I have grown to not to like things in my pants so much I have a fanny pack I use for wallet, phone, keys ect. all the other EDC stuff I have. The point is the Skeletool rides so nice and is a pleasure to use. My wife liberated the first one she liked it so much and it fit her hand very well. I had to pick myself up a new one, my neighbor liked it so much he purchased one today

Nice review. To me the most used tools on a MT are the pliers and screwdriver bits. Those are probably 70% of my uses for a MT. A knife blade is very useful but I always have a 'real' knife on me virtually every waking hour. I'm not a big fan of serrated edges but as a secondary blade it's not too bad.

Very clear and helpful. Besides, you have a good diction and you speak slowly which is very important for anyone who, like me (I'm portuguese) do not dominate the English language and, therefore, I use the help of youtube subtitles. Thank you.

just got mine shipped from amazon, your review helped me make my decision, i opted for the cx version, like the normal (non serrated) blade better. also got the bit assortment and the extension as well... Im an Automotive Technician and had carried a simple pocket knife in the past but always caught myself using it to pry and as a screwdriver... thought it was time to step up to a real tool... Thanks!

Carry this tool daily, comes in very handy. As a couple folks have said, I’m not fond of serrated blades, understand the need for them, cutting line and such. Hard to keep sharpened. Always carry a single blades knife too. Good review.

The pliers on my Skeletool CX snapped while turning a bolt. Not even using them that hard. I got mine about 3-4 years ago. At the time, I remember reading that this had happened to some other users in some Amazon reviews. I figured it was rare enough that it wouldn't happen to me, but it did. Sending it back to LM for a fix tomorrow. Hopefully they've fixed whatever quality problem was causing that in the last few years. Thankful for that 25 year no-questions-asked warranty!

Wow! Eight years ago this Leatherman Skeletool was $35.00. Current shipping fees are going up if ordering this on some web site. I recently saw one for $71.00 ! Just insane how much the worth of the U.S. dollar has fallen. I have one and keep finding more creative uses for this tool in my EDC. Use it for drawing circles. Place a stationary point through the scals at one end and pencil lead through the other scale and rotate the pencil lead around the stationary nail. I also use neodium magnetic washers I purchased at Hobby Lobby. And inserted them inside the folded metal scale on top of the carabiner. (Which doubles as a wing nut wrench.)

Don't worry... In Poland we earn 1/4 of US wage and skeletool goes for 330PLN - 80usd. Other leathermans are even up to 50% more expensive. Amazing years to come.

I EDC a spyderco manix 2 in my right pocket and a skeletool in my left. Between the 2 it's a great combo. I keep the manix razor sharp and ready to go for the big jobs but nine times outta ten I use the skeletool blade for daily cutting tasks. I work in a shop where the pliers and screwdriver are both really handy as well.

For people that like the stainless model and not the CX carbon fibre one but either cannot abide a serrated blade or just want better steel. You can now get a replacement blade that is plain edge and also 154CM steel.

I love Leatherman multiltools. I own several but my fav is the Wave, I always have mine on my belt. I also have the extra bits, bit extender and the new Maglite Solitaire 13 lume flashlight all in the nylon sheath it came with. My second fav is the Supertool 300, love that thing but it is too heavy to carry around all of the time on your belt IMO.

Maybe for 35.00 it's ok, but it's 60 when I checked. And it's really only 2 tools to a backpacker - pliers and a knife. 5oz isn't bad weight wise, but it's huge for what it does. Why not just go to home depot and pick up a pocket knife and some needlenose pliers. It's even better because you can throw the pliers in your pack and keep the knife in your pocket.

I was given one. Swiss army is so much warmer to touch. Even the Swiss Spirit can be improvised to not freeze your hands. This is pretty good, but even the bit holder is for their bits only, right? Whereas Swiss keep standard ones I think so you can use other bits you have. I go for the Old School Swiss every time

Love the videos, love leathermans. Use to carry a mut but found it to be to heavy. Switched to the wave but now I'm debating between the skeletool or the juice. I also favor the knife and pliers but I'm kind of liking the portability of the juice. Keep up the good work.

Best multitool I've ever owned. I owned and carried one for years. Then, somehow, I lost it. When researching a replacement, I couldn't find anything that I thought was better. Just the basic tools that I really need / use, fairly thin and light. So, I just bought a new Skeletool. Very close to perfect, for me.

This would be really good tool but you have to sharpen it before use every time and its gets damaged easily from cutting plastic or card board . pocket clips bend too easily. its really overpriced for the quality.Have to be careful with the plyers in not as strong as a normal full sized, breaks easily. you can buy a normal plier and 2 good hard use knifes for the price (spiderco/ cold steel)
