Some folks don't seem to understand. Luke teaches us to be prepared anywhere and anytime. It never matters if he shows us on his private land or a public parking lot. The point is that he shows us to help us protect ourselves.

@ I don’t understand the correlation between soldiers and stealth camping. Soldiers put their lives in danger and for that they are paid; I don’t know how well, but I know they’re paid. @@orbitalbonsai7777 interesting question you raise. Am I my viewers keeper? It is difficult to see how a one sentence reminder of a life-threatening hazard would in any way diminish this video. We are in an interesting phase of KZbin that has yet to be resolved. Is there a social/moral obligation of the KZbinr or is it all one giant advertisement for entertainment and profit?
@RwerD
@RwerD 11 күн бұрын
@@orbitalbonsai7777I suppose that works, if you watch every video in order. Also, no less than seven other people had questions regarding the heater and CO2 build-up, so I'd wager it's a fairly valid point on a video about safety and preparedness. I mean, he talked for several minutes about an App scam (Honey), seems like a quick reminder to always use proper ventilation wouldn't be too laborious.

Being prepared is the key even for everyday travel. I bring a pack with me on my 40-mile train commute with what I would need to stay warm and hydrated should the train get stuck and lose electrical power for multiple hours in the deep cold (5F). It has happened a few times in the past, and I’m always glad to have what I need to be comfortable.

Very wise. My first train trip I had a 6 hour stall because of icy tracks . Barely got into Chicago, couldn’t leave the station, visited for an hour with my relatives, then all of us had another very long trip back home. Totally sucked but my Indiana relatives didn’t want to change the date. I had nothing with me but I did have warm clothes in layers. Fortunately, the train had at least soda.

Luke, great PSA on the folks searching out big foot & the rescuer who perished on a rescue mission. It is a shame a rescuer had to perish because somebody was Ill-prepared. As survivalist we have one thing in common, survive. That means having the supplies you would need & knowledge of the area you are staying in. Pretty much means you are knowledgeable of what you are doing & knowledgeable of the area you are in. Sometimes we all need constant reminders to take care of ourselves. You break my heart with your night journey in your 4Runner. I just got rid of my leased 2021 4Runner that I loved. Very comfortable for me, but very expensive & at 66+ climbing around in the back for some type of sleeping arraignment was an issue. I finally got her dialed in last year, but the lease was coming up in Jan 2025, & I ventured away from Toyota for a 2023 Ram Pro Master 2500 Van where I can stand up in the van. This was more of a comfort zone move. It will be quite costly as I move along & intergrade the van into my small log cabin, but when I get her done, she will be in my comfort zone. I love your audacity to challenge nature. While most people prefer to stay at home & be cozy on those so-called Shitty Nights, you prefer to challenge Mother Nature. I spent many years as an Over The Road Trucker. Prior to trucking, I spent 8.5 years in the Air Force. That's where I learned my survival skills which got me thru my 30+ trucking years. I love your video's & have adapted much of your advice into my routine. Thank you for your service & thank you for your Public Service Announcements relating to the Outdoorsman. We can all learn from other people's mistakes. Luke, have fun in your 4Runner. I did in mine.

Growing up on the tug hill plateau in NY and then the Catskills, one learns to be prepared at all times for anything. The weather can turn on a dime, especially in winter. I have what I need to take care of basics if my van breaks down and I have two boxes of gear that will allow me to camp in my van for several days if I needed to. You don't need all kinds of fancy gear to survive, just the basics in a small box will do.

I've been stuck between Watertown and Pulaski during lake effect snows more than once - when it is snowing a foot an hour its no joke and you can be driving fine and then in snow as deep as your bumper. Now I just won't drive through the tug hill region when the lake effect machine is on. Being prepared is one thing, knowing when to just call it and don't go is another whole skill some folks still lack it seems - when even the S&R folks die on these rescues its proof that even the most prepared sometimes can't survive when you're out there.

Not only did we have a lot of break-ins, but the community itself is infested with drugs. Our center opened on Monday and Tuesday morning a pipe burst, leaving water everywhere. I sometimes question why is there so many obstacles in my path, especially if you try to lead a righteous and honest life. But then I get new motivation of never giving up from you. I have a 2008 GMC Envoy that has been a wonderful vehicle for car camping. I’ve got a tent attachment for the tailgate used during warmer weather. During the winter I’ve always got an extra power unit & plenty of food in case I get stranded for a while. Our area can get a lot of snow & sub zero days. My car is always ready for that even when I’m not camping, I’ve been enjoying this type of dispersed camping for quite some time. Reflextic window coverings would help with privacy & heat retention. I’m really enjoy watching your camping experiences.🥂

Loved this video! Also, very sweet that you think this is a small car hahaha. In Europe this car would be huge still. There were some really nice shots in this video, but one thing I didn't like so much was the cuts to black. I think I understand what you were trying to do, but i'm not sure it worked out in the best way. But that's just my opinion!

Really enjoy my Kovea Cupid, as i got it from your recommendation. this heater helps me significantly, as my house is very poorly insulated. Doing my laundry by hand becomes difficult in the winter, because my heater in my bathroom doesn't dry out my clothes well. Throwing the kovea cupid in there on low definitely works. one can of butane costing a little over two bucks is much cheaper than paying to dry at a laundromat. That's something like 4 or 6 hours of drying clothes for a couple bucks. To me, this is very cost efficient for drying clothes since I can't simply hang them outdoors.

Honey replaces affiliate links. So if one of your viewers uses one of your affiliate links, and they have Honey installed, chances are, you're not getting money for it. Even if you (Luke) have absolutely no affiliation with Honey.

@@harrisdail993922:48 Luke mentioned the Honey/Paypal abusive chrome extension, if you have it uninstall it, it steals referrals from people like Luke. Luke got it partially wrong, you don't have to be affiliated nor sponsored by them, if the buyer has the extension Honey will change the referral cookie at checkout for their own, stealling the commision. A class action lawsuit just went up and Luke could join it.

Ever driven somewhere in a bad thunderstorms that turn into ice and then snow, got there to find that you're frozen into the vehicle? Did that once and had to run the heater about 30 minutes and shoulder the door open as hard as I could to get out. Everything froze solid.

I really enjoyed this, I felt I was was having a nice sit down and chat with you and when you went out to film the outside shots, it felt like I was watching a documentary or horror film with the abrupt cuts, but great video all around

I lived in the back of a Jeep Wrangler for 8 months, Wranglers have 12v power that's always on for phone charging during the night, i made my own matress, i had everything i needed around me. I loved it and hated it at the same time. It was an experience thats for sure.
