No not really even if you power scale the Creatures of Skull Island the strongest of them comes in at around wall-small building level which is also where large irl animals fall at with kong being just a tad bit stronger so Kong should feel right at home in the Mesozoic tho T-Rexes will give him a run for his money say what you will about the V-Rexes being "evolved" T-rexes but they're only an upscale of our understanding of the Trex back in the early 2000's not current day Trex and as for the weight of the Vrexes being 30 tons aside from the reduced rib count and scutes the Vrex isn't that different in terms of body structure and anatomy meaning there's no reason for the Vrex to be that heavy so the 8-11 ton estimate for the Vrexes is more reasonable so not only is the current Trex on par with Vrex but it's even superior in some categories infact the irl Trex will actually pose more of a threat to Kong than the Vrexes for certain reasons hear me out the movie didn't show it but according to the Novelization Kong did sustain heavy Injuries during the Vrex fight with some of the wounds being bone deep and just as Madly Mesozoic presented due to the Vrex more compact skull probably the result of inbreeding is has less room for Jaw muscle attachments which indicates a weaker bite and the crooked teeth of the Vrex doesn't help now compare it to the Trex who's Jaws and Teeth are designed to crush bone and rip flesh if Trex does ever get a bite out of kong the bone crushing bite would be the least of his worries the Trex would rip huge chunks of flesh out of him and inflict severe bleeding even if Kong does beat a Trex in the initial confrontation he would still need to deal with blood loss. The only category that Vrex beats the Trex is speed but overall the animals should on par with one another.

Excellent work my friend, the only thing I'd say is that Kong would likely have more specialized diets than other apes given relation to Gigantopithecus and the fact his species mostly ate fruits and bamboo like their ancestors. Given how it's at least implied he ate the other sacrificed girls though he probably wouldn't be above smacking on small creatures.
@TogepyyКүн бұрын
Adding on to this, King Kong would not have been as closely related to the gigantopithecus as said in this video. The gigantopithecus is a basal genus of the orangutan like apes and the King Kong would have been more closely related to gorillas
@godzillakingofthemonsters5812Күн бұрын
@@Togepyy His gorilla-like appearance is verbatim via convergence.
@TogepyyКүн бұрын
@@godzillakingofthemonsters5812 in movies or references, Kong is often compared to the gigantopithecus due to its large size. Since it is a fictional world, Kong could be considered an offshoot branch of ponginae - though scientifically impossible to interpret, because it would share more ancestry with orangutans than any other apes. Gorillas have very special features both physically and in behaviours, and Kong shows many of those features throughout his many movies. These highly complex behaviors and physical features are only observed in hominidae apes, and it would be close to impossible for Kong to evolve all of these traits through convergent evolution
@godzillakingofthemonsters5812Күн бұрын
@@Togepyy That's likely untrue. The size of large apes like Giganto are known now to converge on the gorilla-like form. Kong being related to gorillas is explicitly rejected, and arguing with source material is never a good look.

A really enjoyable watch! I really liked how in-depth you went for how Kong could survive the different eras of the Mesozoic, the mental image I had of him grabbing an adult Placerias before biting it's torso off was funny if not a bit sad when you explained him eating some other animals from that area lol The grounded approach to his interactions with other dinosaurs was also nice I think it would of been a bit silly or something if he had just climbed up the back of say a Brachiosaurus to throttle it before doing some WWE wrestling move on it Obviously the favourite part was his interaction with T.rex, such an iconic fight although in this scenario I can almost imagine Kong trying to eliminate any lone young T.rex he could find if they wandered into his territory so he could take out a potential future threat early. Regarding his loneliness I had been thinking maybe he could try to form some sort of a symbiotic relationship with a herd of Triceratops or Edmontosaurus annectens? Helping them scare off T.rex in exchange for food they're grazing from or simply just the company of another creature that's not trying to eat him for a change. Not sure if the Triceratops or Edmontosaurus would be intelligent enough to understand that but I thought it'd at least be something for Kong to have something so he's not alone A great video once again, I can't wait to see what you'll do next! :) I am curious now though if Kong could defend himself from some of the largest Carcharodontosaurids seeing as T.rex had it's chance
@Natalie-ls8rbКүн бұрын
Kong taking on 3 v-rexes basically means not a single theropod by itself has a chance. Those were clearly very sizeable dinosaurs, so it wouldnt even matter if the t-rex is larger. Numbers are almost always better than just being bigger, and so I just don't see the t-rex surviving an encounter with 3 v-rexes.

Peter Jackson's Kong is a bit wonky with durability estimates, because on one hand he is tanking full on V. rex bites without any issue, but on the other he's also getting injured from and eventually dies to 1930s plane armaments. With the former, he's clearing any real life animal easily. With the latter, he's going to get worn down from fighting the larger Mesozoic predators and even getting killed by a single well placed bite from a regular T. rex.

I would have to agree🤷🏾 and goji center said he has very high pain tolerance & tool use so I mean I could only imagine a T. rex getting slammed by boulder or thrown with ease cause he can do it backed up by him throwing 20 ton v Rex’s around like nothing with one arm and punches are so powerful that it sunt the v rex’s entire body flying🦍🦖

Highly disagree, he lived on an island with dinosaurs who evolved further from their past selves and became deadliest, I'd go as far as to say he thrives in just about every environment as lo g as it isn't a desert, even on flat ground kong has little enemies to challenge him, and giant herbivores would not recognize him as a threat because he isn't an outright carnivorous dinosaur which they very much recognize. There is too much food to go around for kong and virtually no single dinosaur would be a match unless they grouped up, and in the case of his higher intelligence and greater speed he would likely never go down unless they ambushed him perfectly, this video had MANY holes in it i could correct easily. I literally watched this movie dozens alof times and stayed locked in to all it's lore and facts. Kong obliterates everything in any period of time and it's not even close. Loneliness is not a factor when you just want to survive another day.

I highly doubt any group of Allos, even in high numbers, is going to risk facing Kong because the would know it's guaranteed to hurt or kill some of them. One priority of predators when hunting is killing or incapacitating their prey quickly so the don't get injured, risking unnecessary injuries is something no healthy predator is willing to do. Desperate animals are also far from their strongest point, be it from injuries or starvation, they would never be able to take a healthy Kong. I also believe the Sauropods wouldn't be that much of an issue because Kong is just too smart and fast to be hit with any attack, harassing them with projectiles and intimidation displays until the leave. He does not need to kill them to get the resources, just make them not worth the harassment. tldr: A group of Allos attacking Kong would be either suicide or stupidly risky, making it not worth it. Sauropods aren't fast enough to get a decent blow on Kong and can be harassed into leaving. He also out-stats all of them by VERY far.

I'm with you about the theropods, none of them would be dumb enough to risk injuries unless Kong was trapped in the mud and thus becoming an opportunity to become trapped themselves, about the sauropods it's all a matter of which family they belong, a giraffatitan? Not a great issue, just stay away from it A diplodocus or something similar with a tail whip? That's where the issues begins, immagine what kind of catastrophic damage could do a 10+ tonnes tail whip that break the sound barrier could do if it connects with the skull or an arm/leg of peter jackson's kong My assumption is that both kong and the theropods/sauropods would stay away from eachother

Even the 1933 Kong was way too big to be realistic. I would say the top size an anthropoid ape could get would be about 12 ft tall (like Son of Kong), and a weight of maybe two tons. And Kong as depicted in that film, for dramatic reasons, varied from 24 to about 40 ft. He never looked only 18 ft tall on his island, as the movie notes say. All the dinosaurs were at least double their real size.

I really liked the video! there are just some things, small ones There are easy ways to calculate Kong's weight using a silverback gorilla as a reference. (after all it is the animal on which it is based) Through the cubic square law, Kong would not go below 20 tons. Something similar with the V-rex, both would not drop below more than 20 tons. Second, through the same process but based on the skull of a V.Rex, a bite force of these can be estimated. According to what I saw, Kong needed to apply more than 100 Tons of force to be able to break the jaw of a V. Rex. Not to mention that Kong himself can withstand the impact of a mortar almost completely, no real animal could do that.
@hugotheimpecileoneКүн бұрын
2005 Kong is 7.6 m tall when he's standing on all fours. a T rex would only reach up to his chest. If we try to be kind of realistic his bones and muscles would have to be extremely dense for him to function at all so he must be way heavier than 12 tons, hes probably closer to 28 tons or more. When it comes to fighting other dinosaurs he easy clears. Since he's constantly running around on his knuckles they gotta be strong as fuck, practically just hooves with fingers. All he needs is one good swing with them long ass arms he'll break the ribs and necks of most dinosaurs. Also he could bite through the neck armor of a V rex.

So yeah he clears Sauro. Would be easier than a healthy/not inbred V. Rex or his 3v1. Edit: Oh you did include the Kenton Allosaurid? Fuck it I’m still keeping this here. It’s a megalania situation where it’s technically called a species, but we can just call it Sauro because the size difference between it and Allosaurus Fragilis is enough to warrant a different section.

V-Rex measure 6.8 meters tall and over 15 meters long, their mass is undoubtedly greater than that of Kong and would be in a range of at least +20 Tons, maybe +30 Tons, plus they are incredibly robust. 8 tons is a horrible underestimation.

At that weight he would be slow as slug, not to mention his bones breaking, not able to get enough oxygen to his body, and a whole host of other physiological handicaps coming with that size. I agree with the Cretaceous assessment about Kong vs T Rex. Kong is too big, strong, skilled, agile, fast, and intelligent, crafty, and just too skilled for a single T. rex to pose a real big threat. He would have to watch out for the jaws though. Even with a large T Rex he comfortably dominates. It would definitely have to take a pack of Rex’s to beat able to take him down or just an accumulation over years of time being in battles with dinosaurs. It’s like putting Batman in with a ufc fighter. The gap is too large for just one ufc fighter take bats down.

EDIT-Did I miss the nod to MadlyMezazoic in here? I just saw a mending in his page but not here. This is 100% done in his format. Just wondering before I freak out

How bout we have can a scientifically accurate t.rex survive Peter Jackson’s skull island. Because if that’s the case I feel bad for the poor dinosaur.

Well... maybe... if the local theropods don't view the big ape as either food or a threat that is... I would imagine that they would take just one long look and be like "dunno what THAT thing is but I'd rather chase down that sick old hadrosaur a few waterholes down". As for the K-T extinction event... well... unless this is purely fictional than I would imagine that kong's gonna find it completely unbearable to survive meteorites and volcanic pollution and so forth.

@TheOverseerDebates Well. I mean, I don't think he would destroy everything you but I mean like if he'd let it on earth before he had his Rangers suit.
