Great little introduction to the Runaway camper! I especially enjoy how well you've utilized the space, and the fact that you are able to take Herky on every vacation because of the camper. I only learned about the Runaway campers yesterday, and I'm glad your video popped up in my recommended list. You and your wife seem like the kind of people I'd enjoy meeting on my travels. :-) Thanks for sharing your setup with us!

Love the ambiance! Everything - from the fire pit to the laundry in the background! I'm amazed at the room inside - I was expecting the usual teardrop layout, with nothing but bed inside. Pleasantly surprised. I'm glad I found your channel - I'll be working my way through the travel videos next.

Thanks for subscribing. We love this little camper. Honestly we can afford larger but this thing is so handy we see no need for it at this time. As we get older our needs may change but for now it’s perfect.

I enjoyed your video. I went with Runaway's Cool Camp XL due to the lousy 1,000 lb towing capacity on my 2016 Chevy Impala and I truly love my little "bed in a box". I'm single, so the smaller size fits me quite comfortably. It is a dream to tow. Straight and stable even in a 35 gusting to 45 mph crosswind. To the other commenters who are considering the Runaway I will say that the Shives family are wonderful people to work with and produce a quality product at a great price. Some tips to newcomers to Runaway camping. Not all campgrounds have a standard 110 household type outlet. Get adapters to go from 50 to 30 amp and 30 amp to 110 household outlet. I also added a 12 volt battery and a 20 watt solar panel. I'm an apartment dweller and store my Runaway in a storage facility that does not have electric hookups in the trailer spots. The solar panel not only charges the battery on the road but also maintains the battery charge while the trailer is in storage. Safe and happy camping to you all.

I agree with you. Hands down the best thing to do is to build your own camper in your own way! yes! Though if for some reason you can't; the runaway is definitely the next best way to go. Originally I was looking for a u-haul style utility trailer to do my camper build. The price and space was really ideal for me BUT it was still too heavy for my tiny car to pull down the road :( Unfortunately my car is NOT a tow vehicle... Eventually I came across the runaway and couldn't believe that there was a way to tow a camper with my tiny car!!! Tall enough to stand up in and wide enough to lie down in with doors, electricity, and even a friggin air-conditioner!!!! XD It was an awesome investment!!! :) No regrets!

Very good video! Thanks for sharing your experience with the Runaway camper. Looks like you two have everything well thought out and situated. I did see and enjoy the video you and Charles made comparing the 4x8 and 6x8 models. It was VERY well done and should answer most any ones curiosity as to which camper would suit their needs. I am excited about the Runaway campers. I live a couple of hours away from where they are made and plan to make a trip to see them soon.

Rubicon Traveler , If you are in the market for this type of camper, the Runaway is an excellent choice. They offer a good selection, are wonderful people to work with, and their trailers tow straight and stable. I love my Cool Camp XL. I went with the smaller trailer as my Chevy Impala only has a 1,000 lb towing capacity. Pricing can't be beat. Website is runawaycampers.com. Happy camping.

I have a friend that pulls his 4x8 with a Prius. He has been doing this for about 4 years.

What s that cool fire pit thing you had in the garage during the video?
@Hanginwithherky

Craig Poppe thanks we have moved to this fire pit as most parks have banned wood from outside the park. We have found it more convenient. The day we did this video it was -4. The fire was cozy but we only lit it during this video. Thanks for watching.

Cool concept for a "winter camping" video. But the poor audio made it hard to hear and understand the conversation.

Michael Miller thanks for the feedback. We use a RODE mic it’s a good mic. The garage was empty causing echo. It was -4 outside so we had to make due. We are not professionals just trying to help some people out. Hope you were able to get something out of our video. Thanks for watching

Very odd interview, "camping", fire inside of a garage... 😓

Roh Tati it was supposed to be a fun twist on things. Sorry you thought the interview was odd. We have had almost 25k views on it with 500 thumbs up and over 100 positive comments. I suppose it was not your type of video. Thanks for watching sorry it did not measure up.
