Wow thanks for braking down the process, I think that takes away some of the misconceptions about submitting. Such a wealth of information. For me it's more about preservation of the figure, but of course it's always nice to have a standard way of recognizing a good condition piece. Another awesome video young One

Very thorough review of the process and what's all involved. Definitely not too difficult once you break it down. As you mentioned it is costly, but definitely worth it if you're collection is a better caliber and something you'd like to preserve. That turnaround time for non-membership submissions is pretty wild, but these days, I completely get it. Curious to hear how you can get a 48-hour turnaround without blowing a wad of cash, if that's even possible. Looking forward to the next episode as always Joey. I really wanted to understand every aspect of grading and I really want to submit figures to AFA just to have that experience as well, so I may do that in a future Episode as well as do the membership feature on CAS. You get perks like 48 hr turnaround times on a few figures. So I may take advantage of that. We shall see. Thank you for watching my friend, always an honor to read your comments!

Another home-run, entertaining and informative. I've been curious about this process myself. Two huge surprises for me. First, the cost, and second, the turn around time. I dont know that I would be comfortable sending my beloved figures away for 5-7 months. I cant understand at the prices they are charging why they dont hire more to get that time down to a couple of months. A really interesting idea for a future video would be to arrange for a guided tour of the grading facility. Love to see how they operate, where the inventory resides, how the graders work, etc.

@@thepadawancollectorofficial yes UKG are very good. The prices are very good as well. A loose figure is around £15. Long turnaround like the US company’s. I’ve used them since they were quite a new company (when they used blue stickers) and been very impressed. I’ve got a few AFA graded figures but definitely think UKG do a nicer job.

Nice, easy and informative. You mentioned insurance on your form when filing your figures to the grader. Obviously the more figures you have in your home, the greater your collection becomes to hold a significant pound/dollar value to it. Have you added your collection to your household insurance or have you a specialised policy? Maybe an idea for a future video as to whether there are companies out there who only insure toys and collectable in your home?

Yea I really want to do an episode about insurance for your collecting, but I don’t want to give advice on what companies to use since it really depends on so many factors to the individual and where they live. I can give advice on what to look for and types of companies, but I need ti think about this one. Too much liability so I’ll need ti research the heck out of it!

Thanks for the great video and showing the step by step process, I have some figures that I would love to have graded. Just one question, do you clean or wipe down loose figures or just send them in?

Hey Marvin! I only wipe them down and will maybe wash lightly with a little non fragrant soap and warm-water. That’s it. They will clean them over there as requested

The price for grading is outrageous...the grading should make the price of the figure go up automatically no matter what grade it gets.

what would happen if you sent in a repo,custom,or basically a fake star wars figure in to get graded?...would they actually still grade it?....would they let you know its a fake?......how would that go down lol

Hey CJ! So basically they will tell you in an email that you have a reproduction item. They will then ask if you want it returned to you. You will have to pay for shipping. If you don’t want it returned they will dispose of it to you at no charge (I believe). But they will not grade or archive the item. I hope this helps. Thanks for watching!
