Isnt it the other way around with the side spin? Because it spins clockwise, the ball will bounce closer to the glass.

No - this is a really common confusion. The clockwise spin means the ball gets more “purchase” on the glass and actually kicks out with more angle. (The exception being wet glass and that negates the spin)

If you think about it, it's the same effect of a topspin ball, if you mentally rotate the ground 90 degrees counterclockwise (just visualise the ground as the right wall). Just like a topspin ball goes UP after it bounces off the ground, a clockwise spin will bounce towards the center after it hits the wall.

Sometimes we face a duo and one of them has a good serve while his partner goes up all the way to net (side openings post). If I cant handle the serve well, and hit the ball towards him, he can just hit it sideways and it’s impossible to reach it. He does it in bit of a toxic way. What is the best way to counter? What to do, to make him regret that net hugging position? Thanks!!

Lob is an option!

Either avoid returning to that person (and instead aim at the server's half) or try to play a lob over him since there's a lot of space behind him as he's hugging the net.
