HEY, Thank you for your videos. I have been watching for a while and trying things out. My painting has improved wonderfully, I love that when I am done with a mini, they don't look painted after using so many techniques from your channel. The BIGGEST is just thinning paints and layering, have not got the guts to do "fleshy" minis yet, but getting there. Thank you for sharing your talent! - yeah going through and commenting on some of my favorite and more helpful videos!!

If you're terrible at hand painting then you should probably hand paint more often. Personally, I think you do pretty well with hand painting. This is a nice looking miniature paint. It's not ultra-vibrant and over-saturated, but that makes it a bit more realistic, and I like that. My favorite part is the yellow hand painted lines on the cloak. It really adds a lot.

That's such a great paint job, I'm a fan of restricted use of colour for when its done well like in this instance it demonstrates good balance of composition ie a bit of fore thought goes a long way. Thanks for the vid Doc.

Maybe the gemstone is magic? Maybe the cleric follows the trickster deity, so its just painted to look like a gem stone.

Some time soon I will be playing in a light hearted and silly game, and I wanted to paint my PC to match the game. Any tips on how to paint a light hearted, and a little bit Cartoonish character without it looking bad.

Hmmm, considered painting in a cell shaded style? Kinda cartoony?

I've been looking for shadow grey but can't find it. Would sombre grey be a suitable substitute?
@ThePaintingClinic4 жыл бұрын
Those are the same color. Vallejo annoying changes the names quite often.

@@ThePaintingClinic Thank you. I thought that was the case when I looked at the Spanish name on the bottles. I asked to make sure.

What size brush are you using? And how do you keep it pointy?

suck and twirl after you wash them

Most 2 and 1. Quality brushes last longer and clean them regularly.

When you give 2 colors for the shade you are painting, is that a 50/50 mix or just an unknown ratio of the 2 paints you used to get that particular shade?
@lordbiscuitthetossable53524 жыл бұрын
I think it's generally 50/50, though playing around with the described recipes is good. The thing to notice about painting tutorials is that the brand/type of paint doesn't really matter; as long as you understand how that paint is effective and you have effective technique.
@ThePaintingClinic4 жыл бұрын
The ratios are whatever is needed at the time. It all depends on the colors being used and the quality desired. I do it by eye most of the time. Just add some of the lighter color so it's obviously a bit lighter. If it's too stark go back and add a bit of the darker color in the mix.

Did you use Dark Prussian Blue for the cloak base coat?
@TheRunesmythe4 жыл бұрын
I'm pretty sure the base color is Oxford Blue.
