Apply a gloss varnish first and then do a black oil wash. You'll line it in moments and it'll look awesome

Yeah probably - although I would airbrush the Magmadroth Flame to save some time

Gives a slightly warmer orange is all - you could pribably just as easily use white 👍🏻

I have some space miners I want to do orange. Do you reckon best to use the old contrast for that grungy look, or the new single pigment with the old colour over the top? I'll do some experiments, but interested in your thoughts

Biggest issue you will have is the potentisl streakiness of the Gryph Hound. You could thin it down eith contrast medium 1:1 and just use two coats though 🤔

Looks great! I'll admit the main thing that intimidates me about using more contrast paints in my workflow is the idea of fixing mistakes with a paint that seems to need to go on super evenly. What would be the process if you painted some of the Black Legion on top of one of the armor plates?

Depends - if I noticed it straight away then clean brush, dry it and then soak up the Black Legion - pushing it towards the rest of BL. If I let it dry then you are looking at repainting that particular armour plate with wraithbone from the pot, then reapplying the Magmadroth

So would you use that primer over brown for orange armour? Everyone has been telling me a brown base coat is best but maybe that’s so you don’t need as many coats? I personally don’t mind spending the extra time with many layers but I’d like to find the best way to make that orange stand out. Your orange looks incredible!

Love the paint job and the channel. I was wondering if i could poke you to paint an intercessor in the chapter colours of the Dark Sons, It is my favourite chapter and I'd love for a more experienced painter to do a video using the newer techniques and paints as a sort of guide. Everyone always does Howling Griffins or Blood angels or Dark Templars and it would be neat for my guys to get a spotlight for once. Whichever way you go thanx anyways for the great content.
