I do wonder if the Sang Guard were going to have wings at one point but it was changed. There is art of primaris sang guard with wings on the launch box. Maybe the art was done a while before the design of the minis?

Regarding the lower quality paper materials, I was under the impression that they were supposed to be more ESG friendly. Even some of the newer products such as the AoS warscroll cards come in boxes that are sealed using paper type tape rather than cellophane tape

In regards to the codex situation, this is why they should have separate rules and lore "codexes" release all army codexes online within 6 weeks of the new edition. Either release them for free or for a cheap price. Then once they can still do releases once a month or once every two months with a box release of the new mini for that faction along with a codex, the codex can have rules but its main attraction would be that they fill it with lots of lore, painting tips for that faction and such. Easy, all factions get updated rules quickly and GW still get to sell us lots of stuff

They will release a big box and a codex for Kreig before christmas, it will be the FOMO box. What you have missed is these roadmaps count the "release" as when the codex is generally available. Wheras here in internet land we think of the release being when the FOMO box comes out and the rules are all over the web. So as a reality check, as far as roadmaps are concerned, blood angels arnt out yet, as of this comment.

Apart from the Sang guard, I think the Blood Angels release was good (as a non BA player). Lemartes and Astorath look ace, though I think the studio photos don’t do them justice when I’ve seen them on other channels.

The new generic models of 40k have literally pushed me to starting AOS because their team seems to actually care about their fan base. I'm a SW player and I am dreading the update.

The old metal death company came with sculpted shoulder pads. They contained the crosses, skulls and blood drops in varying styles. Seems a step backwards not to give more customisation for them. Suppose this is where 3d printing comes in...

A lot of your issues were answered when you opened the boxed games and said it feels like the company cares about the customer, I find myself like many others still spending in GW yet we are aware they don't care for us...take the guard codex as an example. We know there are better game systems and companies but we're hooked.

To be fair Geoff, the last and only person who knew how to make jump pack wings dying would be pure old school 40k ;) It's crazy to see the difference in quality between the 40K team and all the other teams. The only 40K designs this year that excited me were the Kroot refresh and recently the Vespids and the Inquisitor that's been announced as a Warhammer+ exclusive. Everything else has been 'muh'. Whereas Necromunda, Blood Bowl, Horus Heresy, Age of Sigmar have been great. It is possible to make Space Marines cool as the legion specific HQs and characters in Heresy look good, the Mechanicum release looks great and I really want to get it but can't justify it at the moment. The Necromunda Tyranid strain looks creepy as hell and awesome. The Blood Bowl gnome team was pure fun and the Chaos Dwarf centaurs look great. And finally the Age of Sigmar team have been faultless. I really want to do a Skaven or Lizardmen army for the old world with the AoS models Moving away from GW for a moment but the new fifth edition launch box for Infinity looks cool as well. So I don't know what's going on with the main 40K team. I'm dreading what they are going to do to the Grey Knights. The no Lieutenant on bike / terminator armour options could be caused by GW's decision to remove the armoury from the game and have dedicated profiles for each unit in the codex. The Space Marine codex would surely be mostly different HQ options if they added a profile for Librarian on bike, Captain on bike, Lieutenant on bike, jump pack Librarian, etc, etc to go along with all the existing ones.

I see where you’re coming from about the armoury but not expanding the HQ options for bikes, makes it difficult to run White Scars and Raven Wing, unless you’re prepared to have first born in your army.

@@thepaintingphase Oh for sure. It's just in the previous codexes, I keep hearing that the Space Marine one has been bloated for a while and I feel that's a problems of GWs own making. If there was an option to pay +X points for a bike, jump pack, or termie armour etc listed on the sheet then that would solve some problems instead of waiting for an entire profile to be added to the codex. Or even stick it on the detachment rule, I can't remember the name of it but the one that boosts bike squads, "when using this detachment, the following profiles can be mounted on a motorbike for X points"

The “Road Maps” in quotation marks because it’s a very liberal description, were so bad, and combined with the effectively 4 month gap for new 40K, has to be because of operational issues behind the scene, surely? We know a new factory is a few years away, and the DC at East Mids have been problematic, but I wonder if there’s been other issues which means they’re trying to just fulfill what they’ve already shown off but not released, as well as having little confidence in communicating solid release windows for next year.

40K has classic hallmarks of being over produced (not phyiscally) but from a design point of view there are too many conflicting inputs so you end up with generic products which don't satisfy anyone. Basically a design to offend nobody but at the same time putting everyone off. In terms of where my hobby money goes I'm not buying products from games systems I'm not interested in. Just saving it until something I want comes out. May buy some random paints and gear to experiment on the backlog with but not buying a whole new games system or boxed game. Finally, I can't wait for people to b!tch and moan about the P3 pots not being dropper bottles. I won't hold my breath.

No bob should b sacked with a capitol no as im doing a better job remaking peoples mistakes ill still buy the new sanguinor but he will also be changed n thats my point i did up my old 1 out of spite to match the pics as the new 1 is just not as good if you want him to look like the classic youd have to buy the medic n use his spare head

Space marines are boring af. It's about time you have a look at something that isn't power armour or maybe just try AOS. 40k fans always say they love the range and then leave it there. It's a better game and your minis have character. Name me the most recent release that landed like a wet fart as much as every single 40k release we have seen in recent years.
