"hum sab musalman Hain" is a quote that easily sums up Pakistan's renewed identity crisis. An ambassador is expected to have nuances, regard and care not to contradict oneself. He says that Pakistan had 3 major missteps initially, one of which WAS identity: an Islamic nation or a country for Muslims? Neither of which accommodate such gross misrepresentation of their own countrymen.. I believe most conversational threads were broken because of undue explanations and overtly intellectualising them, which led to the host not building on it, rather moving to a new thread.

Here's the thing: Pakistanis secretly admire Modi for being a strong and decisive visionary, but they can't reconcile these qualities with him being Hindu. In their minds Hindus are weak and effeminate while Muslims are the true leaders. So not only does Modi's effectiveness refute and rebuke their civilizational "logic", but his transformation of India's fortunes and trajectory sticks in their craw, as does the reality of their great Muslim genius being outsmarted by a "chaiwallah" Hindu. Because for them Pakistan can only ever be equal to India, or better than it, never inferior. And Islam can only ever be superior and never equal. So take these together and Pakistani Muslims can only ever be dominant, or victims, never equal or inferior to Hindus (and other cultures). Same logic for Islamists. Quite laughable to say that BJP hasn't delivered on Economic Front. The example that India grew double digits during Congress was because Indian Economy was smaller (10th largest in 2015) Libya has GDP growth rate of 31% annual, does that mean it's on its way to capitulate US? NO! Right now, we have 5th Largest economy. And if we go by growth in absolute terms, then I'm sure the numbers are greater than what they were back in 2014. You can't compare 10% of 100bucks to 2% of 10,000 bucks. China have slower growth rate than India yet in absolute terms it'd be higher than India. Let's not forget, COVID is followed by a war and global inflation yet India has managed to keep inflation at par with US (currently). Also to add the kind of Money this Govt has invested in Basic and logistics infra. I have seen my "tier 2" city change infront of my own eyes. From bus for local connectivity to 2 metro Lines and 1 Rapid Rail line now. People don't blindly vote for Religion, they vote after seeing the change on ground.

Multiple incorrect/ bad faith statements by Mr Haqqani in 'India & Modi' segment of an otherwise great podcast - 1. GDP growth rate was never in 'double digits' in Manmohan's govt. 2. BJP has govts in Kannada speaking Karnataka in the south & in Assmese speaking Assam in the north-east India. So, why insinuate that there will be intolerance only in the so called northie Hindi-belt ? 3. 'Anti-Conversion' law is actually 'Prohibition of unlawful conversion of religion' - and applies equally to anybody converting to any other religion . Many major empires who have ruled the entire subcontinent like Mauryan empire (all) and large ones like nanda , shunga and gupta dynasty are from this region. Buddhism and Jainism formed here and even Guru Gobind singh ji who created khalsa was also born here only . Festivals like Holi and Diwali are UP festivals , Mahabharat and Ramayan happened in UP , Lord Ram and lord Krishna birth place is here , Sangham in Prayagraj is here and the cultural capital of Hindus Kashi (Varanasi) is here . Even the Rishi who wrote the first Veda Rishi Ved Vyas was born in UP including his father Rishi Parashar and great grandfather Rishi vashisht. Chanakya and Aryabhatta who gave zero was also from Bihar . These are just small examples and many are there . UP contribute 16% of total soldiers to army , biggest Wheat producing state with MP and Bihar is the biggest rice producing state with Bengal . Many IAS IPS come from here . Bihar is economically poor but UP is developing very rapidly and currently come 2nd or 3rd in SGDP . Even the Two biggest mahajanpada of 16 were from UP and Bihar only . just because the region is poor doesn’t mean it has no significance.

It was also one of the most corrupt governments. The difference between other PMs and Modi is that he calls spade a spade and pays back in the same coin. He is the most courageous PM India ever had. Besides this, he is non corruptable and doesn't tolerate corruption. He has been holding the top ranking amongst the world leaders since past several years He refrains from minority appeasement for vote bank unlike the Congress government and treated every citizen equally. He has a very firm policy towards Pakistan that terror and talk can't go together which every Indian appreciates. During his tenure, India's infrastructure has grown phenomenally world class and still continues to grow. He might not be suitable for Pakistan because he has cornered Pakistan and isolated it by his aggressive diplomacy but he is definitely good for India.

GDP growth rate was never in 'double digits' in Manmohan's govt.This guy knows nothing about Bharat. Congress government ke time pe bharat ka highest growth rate 2010 mai tha 8.5% or inflation bhi 2010 mai hi highest tha 11%. Last financial year Bharat ka growth rate 8.7% tha or inflation 5.13% tha. 2. BJP has govts in Kannada speaking Karnataka in the south & in Bengali speaking Assam in the north-east India. So, why insinuate that there will be intolerance only in the so called northie Hindi-belt ? 3. 'Anti-Conversion' law is actually 'Prohibition of unlawful conversion of religion' - and applies equally to anybody converting to any other religion . Religious minorities in Pakistan would have greatly benefited had there been such a law in the first place.

Why is the onus on Hindus to prevent polarization when it is them that have been converted or killed for 1000s of years? I am the generation that was born after Zia’s ascension to power, my formative years having been informed by an atmosphere of extremism and intolerance and an ever shrinking space for dialogue that haunts us to this day and on the face of it seems irreversible. Let me give you an example in 2014 India manufactured almost 0 mobile phones and recently alone Apple exported 3 Billion $ US from India . Pakistan current foreign exchange reserve is 4 Billion $US just let that sink in. Nearly 750 Billion $US of exports of goods and services has been done this year. I am from Delhi , India.

Seriously, I want people to talk about the nitty-gritty of the so called changes in India wrt. to "religious intolerance". Key note is the actual delta of CHANGE. More media focus doesn't mean much of a change. Secondly, how much of this is based on some left-wing notion that minorities should have group rights superseding individual rights that "majorities" shouldn't. All this poetic song and dance of the philosophy of Nehru's India is well and good, but talk about actual changes on the ground in terms of policy, vs ascribed "intent". Indian growth started down since 2013 when the investment cycle got ended and we were in real estate bubble... Modi government actually maintained economy via extensive capital expenditure for demand supply.. As investment cycle is spreading once again things are good for future if global winds calm down
