As a new EMT, I can say that we definitely glazed over a lot of stuff. I feel like I didn’t learn as much as I needed.

I haven’t taken my test I’m doing clinical and realized I should have been taught a way different way
@RussellStudiosUSA Жыл бұрын
@@Woody2Times yeah thing to remember is that the way your taught is what the test wants, but in real life situations on the “box” you definitely throw out a bunch that’s in the book

This is a great way to start out with a new incoming EMT. Being positive and willing to have an open environment t so that the new hire feels that they have a team that is there for support

Great video. Positive reenforcement is always best. I'm in my eigth month of being an EMT. Every call is a learning experience. It also good to do a post-call debrief: how did we do? What could/should we have done different? Can our teamwork be improved? Thanks for doing the channel.

Great advice, I am a new EMT and was trained properly. I had another EMT on another ambulance and my EMSVO said “Jimi, dan needs your help.” I said “who the hell is Dan.” He didn’t know how to chart the call properly and I just showed him. He was older and wasn’t showed how to document O2 on transfer of care and in emscharts

Hey Evan, man I wish we had paramedics like you here in New Zealand. Over here we are typically thrown into positions at a first responder level which is basically just a advanced first aider, and expected to perform at an emt level or even higher in some cases, in which we have nil training at all and then get ridiculed for not knowing things that seem basic to them, and basically no support to get better. Of course this is not all cases but in my experience happens often.

I took mine in January and passed. Honestly most of the questions were repeated but just worded differently. Begin that it’s worded differently you may think you don’t know the answer. Understand what the question is asking and don’t let it trick you. GOOD LUCK

I went on my first ride along and the nurse was pissed we took the pt experiencing voices and black outs to the ER instead of psych ward. We got stuck two hours until the next person came in and took over care. Got stuck 4 hours at one ER

@the paramedic coach I have question if you could reply that would be awesome i went back to school to get my GED to become an EMT but I'm still studying on my GED classes and studying the types of shock like cardiogenic shock all the way too obstructive shock what topic do you recommend for me to study that is barely getting familiar with everything

Definitely in a class where we are thrown into scenarios we havent even learned yet & our peers are jeering & sneering. Itʼs NOT a good feeling. Itʼs not a good way to learn. Your methods are much more positive & encouraging. I learn better that way.

Hi Coach ! I just wanted to reach out to you because I’ve failed my NREMT state exam… I just wanted to ask anybody if I study his NREMT accelerator BLS program I’ll have higher chances to pass? I failed twice already and tried third party websites all I get are multiple questions that I won’t even see on my exam and is always trauma and medical I score low I always score high on airway and EMS operations always get a 100 so what am I missing? Failed by 1 percent. 🤦🏽♂️

The problem is that most courses teach to pass a test so that you can go work on an ambulance and learn how to work as an EMT.
