Yeah when I saw this scene I got authentic vibes. It makes sense now why Jerry won't hire a random GM and that hes doing this with his kids. Obviously its a tv show so there had to be direction however you can tell when its acting or its authentic especially considering the fact that Jerry isnt a professional actor. He absolutely killed it. There is not a doubt in my mind that that script was not written. That was Jerry Jones talking about his life. He is in his mid 80s. That's exactly how he feels about his life not even a question in my mind that that wasn't a written script. I'm sure they gave him a timeframe and stuff like that but it's basically him talking about his life and Jerry's been known to get emotional the older he's gotten.

What he did say about his family is true. Ever since he bought the Cowboys, he has his own adult kids help run the team and the family business when it comes to real estate, construction, oi/gas, etc. Jerry can never say he regrets not spending enough time with his family. His family is RIGHT THERE and every Cowboy home game they are together in one form or another. So when Jerry dies, his son Stephen takes over. So when Jerry does die, it will be with his family right by his side.
