That was Sir Anthony Hopkins from Silence of the Lambs and Hannibal playing Hannibal Lecter. He also was the replacement for Jim Phelps in the Mission: Impossible 2 film. Chris Hemsworth is such an incredible actor. He plays the cocky, mighty Norse god well, but when the part calls for kindness and generosity and sympathy, loss and anguish, that's when he really shines. And this movie is just the beginning. Shame you did not see the deleted scenes. Completely changes the feel of the movie, Loki did not seek the throne. Good thing they did, and it worked. Loki certainly didn’t win over the hearts of the fans with his conflicted personality and villainous ways in the screen time he had. Nope, not at all, no fan love for Loki. He certainly isn’t my all time favorite MCU character and no fans have ever chanted LOKI, LOKI, LOKI whenever the actor makes a public appearance promoting the MCU. That may happen with other actors from the MCU, but not to the guy that plays Loki. To bad, I hear he is a pretty good actor and could have been one of the most loved characters in the MCU. 💚🗡️💚

I liked this version of Idris Elba’s Heimdall the best. He’s very large, very stoic, and has a calming deep voice. After Thor 2 his character changes so much. He looks scrawny, talks faster with a higher pitch and just acts like Idris in every other movie role he has. The beauty of his portrayal of Heimdall in Thor 1 was that I had no idea it was Idris until I saw him in Thor 2 and had to look up his filmography just to make sure he was indeed in the first film.

- Thor, Asgard, The Rainbow Bridge, Yggdrasil, etc. is all based off Norse mythology - Barton (the guy with the bow and arrow) is a main character in the MCU and his alias is Hawkeye - The bald guy with glasses at 13:47 is important later down the line, so just try and remember him - When Loki fell into the void near the end of the movie, he fell into another part of space and from there certain events transpired that we're not shown, but those events (that we are not shown) are the reason he returns in the end credits at the end of the movie (this is important for many reasons that you will see soon and actually much later) - Next movie is "Captain America: The First Avenger"

- 8:26 - This guy trying to lift Mjolnir is J. Michael Straczynski, who not only wrote the story for 'Thor', but also has written many Marvel comics for Spider-Man (like the black cover Amazing Spider-Man that was written in honor of 9/11), Thor, and others as well as DC characters. He also created the 1990s landmark sci-fi series 'Babylon 5' and the Netflix series 'Sense 8' with The Wachowskis (who created 'The Matrix'). - 13:39 - The man with the bow and arrows is Clint Barton aka Hawkeye played by Jeremy Renner...don't worry...he'll return in future MCU movies. Shoshana...you smell trouble....trust that instinct. The director of the film was Sir Kenneth Branagh, one of Britain's foremost Shakespearean actors as well as directors. He has built his career on Shakespeare films ('Henry V', 'Much Ado About Nothing'. and 'Hamlet' acting in and directing the films), as well as films like 'Mary Shelley's Frankenstein', 'My Week With Marilyn', 'Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets', 'Dunkirk', and the recent Agatha Christie/Hercule Poirot movies 'Murder on the Orient Express' and 'Death On the Nile'. He won an Oscar for Best Screenplay for his film 'Belfast' in 2021. The next movie is 'Captain America: The First Avenger'...and that glowing cube in the end credit scene figures in that story. We're going back in time to the 1940s and WWII for this one!

Stellan Skarsgard (who played Dr Selvig) was simply amazing in Andor. You should see that if you haven't already. When I was a kid, I hated this comic book, because they made so many changes from Norse mythology (I'm half Scandinavian). MCU Loki is an amazing villain. Credit to the director of this movie for that. You always want him to do the right thing even though you know he is going to disappoint you. Mild spoiler: when Loki does the right thing, he can cause almost as much trouble as when he is doing the wrong thing. He is the god of mischief, after all.

The next movie should be Captain America. One thing to note about the Captain America movie, and it is a little spoilery, is that the opening scene during WWII in Norway with Johan Schmitt and the old man in the church is also a reference to the one scene in Thor where Odin defeats the army of the frost giants 5000 years previous. They both happened in Tromso, Norway. The cube in the end credits of Thor is called a "Cosmic Cube" in the comics, but it is named the Tesseract in the movies, and it'll pop up again sooner than you think. The order in which to watch the MCU is pretty much by release date, although there is a different list based on chronological order in terms of time in the MCU. (Basically, Captain America would be first, since it mostly takes place in WWII, but the small scene in Thor from 5,000 years ago would technically put that scene first.) Iron Man The Incredible Hulk Iron Man 2 Thor Captain America: The First Avenger The Avengers Iron Man 3 Thor: The Dark World Captain America: The Winter Soldier Guardians of the Galaxy Avengers: Age Of Ultron Ant-Man Captain America: Civil War Doctor Strange Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 2 Spider-Man: Homecoming Thor: Ragnarok Black Panther Avengers: Infinity War Ant-Man and the Wasp Captain Marvel Avengers: Endgame Spider-Man: Far From Home Black Widow Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings Eternals Spider-Man: No Way Home Doctor Strange And The Multiverse Of Madness Thor: Love And Thunder Black Panther: Wakanda Forever Ant-Man And The Wasp: Quantumania Then there are TV shows, one shots, and other stuff mixed in there between the movies that are technically considered part of the MCU and would help add more context to the main movie line.

THOR!!! This was the first MCU movie I saw in theaters way back in 2011. I LOVED IT! With so many other great installments coming this one isn’t in my top 5, but it will always hold a special place as my first big screen MCU movie and the movie that kept me coming back for more. Jane & Thor are my favorite MCU couple. I really enjoy their fairy tale romance in this. Now for Loki. “Mixed” and “Conflicted feelings” about Loki are spot on. Even Loki has mixed and conflicted feelings about the things he does and the way he acts sometimes. If you watch the end fight scene closely you will see that Loki has tears streaming down his face when trying to get Thor to fight him in the Bifrost bridge chamber. It is a sign of his inner conflict and pain. Loki loves his family, but feels so betrayed and hurt by them for keeping the truth from him about who he is. Tom Hiddleston plays Loki masterfully, he really shows the many layers of Loki’s personality and makes you love, sympathize with, pity, & hate Loki all at the same time. He is a great character, and one of the most interesting, relatable, and “human” characters in the MCU. Beautifully flawed, but always entertaining, Loki, the god of mischief, and my favorite MCU character overall. P.s. Tom Hiddleston was in War Horse with a hair color way closer to his natural color. The jet black hair he sports as Loki is dyed and sometimes a wig. Great reaction, can’t wait for more from you guys!!!
