Love how smoothly it went! I have 3 buns, 2 girls and 1 boy, and while my girls were free roam in their room the boy was blocked off with his play pen. Little did I know he would jump out (the girls are desexed, he is booked to get desexed) and they bonded themselves. It was love at first sight! It took a week for me to bond the two girls, the boy was immediately accepted in! I get it with the "wow I was worried for nothing" feeling!

This was helpful and makes me hopeful! We have a spayed female (Judy) and just adopted a male (Ted) who was neutered on 8/5. We are waiting 8 weeks post surgery to put them together. Our male was found outside in a baseball field. It is assumed he was dumped. He is very nervous, but he is super sweet and warming up nicely. We have their pens close enough to see each other and are laying along the sides closest to the other. When exploring around, there were a few territorial signs at first, but those have stopped!

Hey Austin! Great Job On Bonding Them! I Have A Suggestion For Your Guinea Pigs Or Even Rabbits! If You Get An Old Shoebox And Cut The Front Off (So They have An Entrance) It Is A Great Way For Them To Burrow In Hay Without Getting It Everywhere! My Older Males Have A Big Box Because They're Chonkers and I Had To Cut A Few Holes So They Wouldnt Fight XD, Have A Great Rest Of Your Day/Night!

I spent the night at my friend's house about 15 years ago his girlfriend had dog a rabbit and tree cats sleeped on the couch woke up with all five animals on the couch with me❤❤❤❤❤❤so sweet.

This video made me so happy to watch! I bonded my male and female (both rescues too) and it took me FIVE months (132 daily bonding dates to be exact!) Until they officially "moved in" together in their forever space. I did bunny speed dating so my male could choose his partner, did all the same things that you did for your bonding, and it wasn't until month 4 where I finally could let go of my welding gloves and transition to overnight dates and 24/7 bonding. I'm so glad that your bonding experience went smoothly (a bunparent's dream too) and congratulations on the new bond 💙

Oh really, what way do you typically do it there? I'm from Sweden and this is not as commonly recommended here as it seems to be in the US and UK. It's not a technique I have used or will probably use in the future, but it's great to see other ways that work! 😊

So happy they get along well! 🥰 I also had a good bonding experience last fall. A year ago I had three spayed girls living together - but it didn't work. One of the girls was being bullied by the others, and they eventually injured each other, so I had to separate them. So that was not a good experience. But bonding my lonely girl with a neutered male rescue bun last October went great - it was love at first sight and they still love each other! She is a shy girl but he makes her more comfortable and outgoing. It is beautiful to watch their bond and how he made her "bloom". So now I am happy with my two pairs of rabbits that all thrive! ❤🐰 ☺

My rabbits were bonded and had ro be seperated when we got our male fixed, (female ended up pregnant and didnt know, until he was about 2 weeks into healing tome, she gave birth to 5 babies (we lost 2 but 3 healthy ones) anyway, anytime we try to out them together, zhe immediately attacks him, and viscously.. so weve kept them seperate.. they had been together since they were about 3 weeks old (we got them at 8 weeks) , and used to be absolutely great together. Our boy is super sweet, but female is extremely NOT okay with him.. any tips.? Your buns seemed to go GREAT? .. HELP...

Honestly so happy for you! When you first said about bonding Vinnie with Milo I admit I was a bit like yikes because of the bonding male with male thing (but rooted for them all the same)! We have a 4 year old choc lab. And recently got a bunny. He is the sweetest thing. Our first rabbit ever. I am pretty embarrased to say, I thought bunnies were dumb. Boy was I wrong. Super smart and loving. We havent mastered the litter training yet. But he follows me. And runs to the fridge when somebody opens it. Fresh greens await him. Lol. Anyway. It was a little tough to keep my lab from hurting Bunny Bunny(thats what I call him. After weeks of literal babysitting them both, Ruby the lab just lays and lets Bunny Bunny do what ever. She even shares her bed with BB. NOW WHAT SCARED ME WAS IN THE MIDDLE OF THIS PROCESS, Ruby snatched 3 opossums out of our fig tree and killed them almost instantly. I was super worried my lab would not except Bunny. But she is being a great big sis

I just wanted to give a recommendation for the litter box, you obviously don’t have to agree or listen as everyone cares for their buns in their own way. The wood bedding isn’t the best for them I’ve noticed as it can cause respiratory infections and be harmful for them. I learned this in the not best way during my first time having a bun. I would recommend using newspaper based litter (typically used for cats) as it absorbs moisture a bit better and also helps to avoid pungent odours (as you stated you have a allergy to them it could be better for your health as well). It’s also softer on their little paws as one of my buns refused to use other litter as it was painful for him. Please don’t take this the wrong way as I think you’re doing a wonderful job and I just wanted to share something I found as a helpful tip when I had buns in the past. They clearly have golden love for you as you do them and I’m glad they have a wonderful home that made them feel safe enough to bond with one another and I’m so grateful they both found a wonderful home. And seriously they are so stinking cute I can’t ❤️😂

I had a very large, very chill , neutered Belgian, that was free roam. I got a female silver Martin that was very hyper. When I went to introduce the two, my Belgian got upset so I blocked off the hallway with a baby gate and let them stare at each other for a while. One night I heard this crash. She had knocked down the baby gate and the two of them were in a scuffle. I grabbed the first rabbit, I could catch in the dark, it was the silver Martin. When I picked her up, she was hanging on to my Belgian by his ear and wouldn’t let go!

Ahhwww so cute! I just bonded my boy bun with a pretty girl. Were running like crazy sometimes and fluff in his mouth, but after 1,5 days they were sleeping together. We're 1 week in and they do everything together. Around september october I have a new couple to bond. Hope it goes well! Mine was a french lop girl with a yellow of bourgondie boy, and the other couple will be a french lop boy with a mix girl. She was dumped in the forrest with her sister, she now is 7 weeks (ish). Her boyfriend is waiting till she is old enough to bond with him! All desexed ofcourse.

Bonding can be very difficult and stressful as their alpha beta dynamic can make it difficult if you end up with two dominants with neither wanting to give in! You defo took the best approach though, the best way is just to gauge and amend the process depending on how they react to eachother. Great job 😊

My biggest tip is to start slow and have them living next to eschother but not actually able to get to each other for a few weeks/months before you actually start the bonding process.

Hi there, very nice to see Vinnie and Milo doing so great together. Touching each other and eating together is a great sign after such a small amount of time. I wouldn’t worry to much about Vinnie grooming Milo but not the other way around, maybe Milo needs more time to adjust cause Vinnie is the first rabbit he saw or it’s just that Milo is the dominant part in the pair and Vinnie being submissive😅😁 I experienced this with my bonded pair cause with rabbits, usually the submissive one grooms the dominant but the dominant doesn’t really bother to groom the submissive one. It’s not a thing of not liking the partner it’s just a hierarchy thing with rabbits😂😅😅

Rabbits are domesticated. That would kill them. There are so many abandoned rabbits and they die outside:( mostly from cat attacks. Cats are also domesticated and belong inside. ♥️

May I ask if your rabbits are still bonded? I have two male rabbits, I bonded them about 10 months ago. Everything was going perfect until 1 month ago a fight broke out of nowhere and one of the bunnies ended up getting stitches. They are both neutered, free roaming in the house, have two extra large litter boxes, lots of hiding spots, toys and tunnels, two water bowls, and are healthy. Do you have any idea what could cause the fight?

Yes, my boys are still together and are doing amazing! If you find they are fighting, you must limit their space back to an xpen and then slowly expand with every day they are getting along
