I think this episode is one of my best episodes. He is so open and vulnerable with Ryan.

I’m not even half way through the show and it’s so inspiring! We can lose the fight.. but not the journey. So inspired. Another hit guys! ❤️

Damn, this one has me in tears! Belief in the quiet and through the noise is what will help get this man over this hurdle. To hear the guys, especially Freddy T break it down and b a big brother to him was beautiful. He needs more big brothers who need/want nothing from him but true friendship! His tears of hurt/frustration come from his passion for the sport & not wanting to let certain people down. Praying for him as God has greater things in store for him that he can’t yet see for himself. 🙏🏾👏🏾🫶🏾💐

I think themba picked up alotta new fans with this, i know he has one in me over here in michigan. Keep going my guy, the united states may be divided at timeS but dammit do love underdog stories as a whole regardless of political backgrounds for the most part. Sports r the ultimate equalizer and uniter of folks. Look forward to see where his journey goes!!!!

Lets hope Themba’s story helps athletes in NFL and NBA understand the human cost of those sparkly diamonds on their championship rings. We can do better than depending on exploitation of African resources and peoples.

Well done Themba. Some people don't want you to be successful not because you're incapable but because they know damn well that you can do it. They fear your greatness! Good Luck Champ and keep going. Siphokazi from South Africa.

This Brutha’s entire existence is a testimony. His faith, hope, patience, work ethic, desire to catch his dreams. He dreamed when he should have had NO HOPE, but he Had Faith. AND He DID the WORK TO ACHIEVE HIS GOALS. He went through literally death; borders, dog attacks, treachery, betrayal and it’s your own that try to do you. Stay Ready, Keep dreaming some day opportunity will meet your dreams when you least expect it.

“I didn’t realize that fighting could be a sport”. That sentence tells the entire story of why this man is battling as many mental demons as he is cage opponents. I sincerely hope he can get the assistance he needs. Warriors need help too.

You can see the respect he has for all of the Pivot team. Ryan more so because of his relationship with Dwayne, and his own relationship with him. But he really opens up here. He is inspirational. A man who isn’t ashamed to show emotion and weakness, knowing that’s where we ultimately grow and get our real strength from. A great interview. Watched every minute. 👍

On a different topic. I look at the resources for mental health like sports psychologist or Therapist... I hope this man has access to such. In most African countries was and still goes undetected/untreated for years. Especially when it comes to men. So his cousins back home tapping into is absolutely heartbreaking.

awesome episode, thanks Pivot Brothers. I couldn't hold it when 1) Ryan asked if it was the same cousin (that snitched and later caused trouble); and then 2) when Themba said "I only train and sleep"... Love you guys. You're part of my weekly schedule. God bless

Man, i commented before i finished the last 25 mins...as someone that was an athlete who dealt with traumatic shit at a young age it wasnt till i got some therapy where i could see more clear and be better cause man its tough fighting again ur own brain in the mental health game. I dont know if hell ever read this but themba reach out to jay glazer whos gym trains mma guys but also counsels the fighters right there at the same gym. One stop shop for physical and mental health in one training session. Any ex athlete or current would vouch for Glazer in a heartbeat. Just a suggestion

What I learned in life is that somebody's opinion of me is none of my @%#%#& business. Freedom looks looks like this. Not giving an F about what people have to say about me. When I learned that, a burden was lifted off my shoulders, and I started living. Jealousy is a joy stealer.
