I'm gonna check out these individual racks and apply them to some future lofi-house projects I've been working on! Also, working like this with constant tweaking of the setup is a big part of how you define your own sound!!! Very inspiring mate!! ❤❤

Great video Will! I use a similar template with similar bussing and routing, but without the specific ‘tapey’ elements. Would love to learn how to make the devices you’ve created? Does the video on Patreon demonstrate how to make these? And can I make them with Suite 11 (as I haven’t coughed up for the upgrade yet)?

Thanks bud! They just make things a little more fun and simple (after the setup of course) right!? I’ve made plenty of devices on the channel, if you search “Verve” on my channel for instance you’ll find a “how to make a better saturate than…” style video and I walk you through how to make a tape device not too dissimilar to the outboard one found here. Macro mapping is all pretty similar after that!

Just bought the template, unfortunately I am not able to use it properly since I only have live standard. Would have been nice to know in advance that live suite is needed :(

It says "[Live 12 Suite]" in the title at the Shop and, in the description of the download before you buy it says "for live 12 suite". If you joined as a member it says "exclusively for Live 12 Suite" in the blog post as the title... Still, I try to keep everyone happy that joins the Patreon, so if you shoot me a DM i'll refund you if you don't want to stick around :)

Ok, I have seen you post on patreon, that it's not exactly possible to do the mixer in live11. You recommend building the routing for live11 like you show it in another video, maybe I'll try that..

This is a good way to work. Anything to facilitate working on 'music' rather than knob-twiddling - unless that's what someone really enjoys. The problem is the term producer has been awarded too lightly. Begs the question - is what you've written worth producing?

Mmm good words! I think producer has taken on many different forms it used to just mean “the person who invested money into the project” then it became someone who oversaw the project technically and helped the band form their sound “try it like this, let’s move the bridge, chorus with more energy” (like a Rick Ruben) then it was more a beatmaker like Timbaland, but someone who understood all elements of the process, now its like arranger, someone who just moves sample loops around the page…
