Excellent video, thanks for sharing. I think many of your viewers would like to see the waveform for GDI injectors as well:)

Excellent review, Chad. I like the way you moved through the data quickly, got a message across so efficiently. Great tip, to put both wires through the inductive meter. Last time I did this I used the bulkhead connectors, but doing it that way you only get one bank at a time.

Hi Practical mechanical, good videos and I of course enjoy them: what would be a great help is to see what is noise, what is normal and what is a glitch or what represents a bad wave form. Because as a learner I get confuse when I see different waveforms from different scopes. I have a u-scope and sometimes I see little lines in the waveform that makes no sense . 60,000 milliseconds per minute divided by 10.35 = 5,797 RPM

why can you only see opening on amperage and closing only on voltage? from the time the injector is grounded until the opening hump the injector coil is a pull in relay and from hump to peak amperage the coil is a hold in relay. from the time injector ground is released until the closing hump is the closing speed that can be compared if you had an intermittent sticking injector. tell me if this would not be a possibility.

Are u saying because I'm very green that if u use a verus u don't need the attenuator thanks chuck

Some of the early snapon scopes only had a 200volt input so you should be safe for injector testing. For ignition primary aeswave makes an adaptor with attenuation built in. You may want to look up the specs for your specific model on snapon website to see if your scope has the 200 volt input or 400 volt input. One question they said if you using the snop on we dont need the itinuator is that true

Correct. The Snapon does not require an attenuator for injector, solenoid or ignition primary testing. Just select the appropriate voltage range and you will some times hear the scope make a couple of clicks as it adjusts the input attenuation.

Sir, do you have to use the Snap On amp clamp when using a Snap On Scanner in order to get the correct measurement. I believe that was said in someone else's video but I was not sure. If you can't and have to use a generic amp clamp (AES wave) would I use probe instead of amp clamp for my choice and then choose 20 amps ?

As long as the scaling is the same you can use the Amp setting in the scope. If the scaling isn’t the same you can just use Volts DC instead and change your voltage down to 1 or 2 volts. This should allow the proper range to see your waveform.
