My resentment over the things my parents did wrong was holding me back. My parents made big mistakes, but they treated me with more respect and kindness than they were treated by their parents, by quite a bit, and I don’t resent my grandparents either, they were good people. Respecting children as human beings is actually rather modern. My goal is to be 10x more loving and kind to my kids than my parents were, but I have not been and will never be perfect. I need to be more giving with my wife without keeping score so much.

I just came across this guy recently and been eating up his content. I disagree with some of his political ideas a bit being right politically but his over message is spot on that both parties need to embrace. I like that he has the rough around the edges attitude about the things he believes and they way he says it. This alone is they way men should behave. Having the confidence to say shit that may offend people but with the intent to truly help people. Thats what we need as a society. Some tough love and truth.

Being in between both of these guys ages it's actually kind of nice how they set this podcast up. Scott sounds wise to me, Ed sounds young and maybe a bit naive. That's not to say Ed isn't good at his role, he knows way more about markets than I do. It's just good to have that juxtaposition, and I'm sure that was somewhat intentional.

13:00 Host speaking beautifully about forgiving his flawed father. SG is like Nero Wolf in that his standards are his own and intended to be something, represent, who do you wan to see in the mirror every morning, who do you want to live with. 15:00 Ed (I love his name, so ordinary, one syllable, for such a sophisticated, grown up young man) earning respect, says he's guided by his own principles and interests so he doesn't want to align with one pill or another, be on a podcast talking about diets, workout regimes, and magic potions that solve ones life. I admire people with calm authority and their own identity. 16:00 This podcast would be more exceptional if you brought more heart into it; like emotional vulnerability, where you find support when things get really hard, community, how you stay connected and positive. Charity begins at home and in our AI, Ozempic, money driven world our basic humanity doesn't get a lot of love in the media, so working that in even more, you do display real affection on the show, would be impressive and kind of a boss move. When I see people in mainstream media that exhibit real emotional depth, embody human values first and foremost, I always take notice and am impressed, El-Erian or Bernie Sanders comes to mind. I guess it comes down to personal values and how you express them in the world. 23:00 Producer gives what I asked for, shares a story about a work trip to Tulum, amazing dinner, DJ Apellido, and dancing on the beach, all together, under the stars, feeling great love and connection with her co-workers. Thank you female person. Hombres take note.

Is Galloway entertaining? Absolutely!....to answer the question. But that Neil Postman description of contemporary media does little to define this ''performance''. Prof G's stupid ''man-jokes''' transition to an authenticity, a vulnerability and a truth that Ed thoughtfully adds nuance or even an opposing view. The prose-and-play of the the old and young, papa and son, give perspective and lead the listener to a better understanding of how markets, the economy and the world work. Galloway radiates with experience and expertise; Ed shines thoughtfully with analysis. The two bring a a dialectic through humour, humanity and wisdom that helps us decipher the stock market shit show. Thanks guys

Scott, I have followed you for years. I've always found your humor and insights enlightening and entertaining. I know you're an atheist, but I gotta say as a Christian, your opening "come to Jesus" joke crossed a red line. You're entitled to your beliefs and I know you don't give a shit what others think about you. Until today, I thought you were worth my time. Not anymore. I'm done with you. My unsubscribe will have zero impact on you, I know that. But, I'll sleep better knowing that I stand up for Jesus. If you ask Jesus to forgive you I know that he will. But I can't. Dr. Galloway, if you want to branch out of your political bubble, don't just focus on "conservative" voices.. you could use some input from more left wing voices. For simplicity sake, Medi Hassan would be a place to start. These are the voices that have traditionally and structurally never had any real power, if you look at it from the perspective of an ongoing class struggle involving capital vs labor... and of course that's the real struggle that perpetuates through history and various political systems. The current main stream "left" that exists in a country which sports the largest wealth disparity in recorded history might just be more to the right of center than you're willing to accept. As a wealthy man that's profited from this system, you're naturally going to lean into a very, very moderate view of any critique of that system, and it's going to be easy to fall into the concept that it's your own ability that led to that success when you look around the current media scape which is full of examples of idiocy and incompetence from the proletariat. That's not the story of our times, it's the story you're being presented by capital to justify the power dynamic. So look around, not to the right because you think you're on the left.. look to the left where there are very few elected officials, no billionaire oligarchs (zero), and has never had a president or king to champion their cause.
