Just wanted to say thank you. I wasn’t getting power to the fans on the radiator on my H170i. I couldn’t figure it out because the directions weren’t clear on looping a cable from the end of the radiator to the side/top of the radiator. Seeing you do that instantly fixed the problem and ended my woes. I didn’t see the port on the side/top when I installed the radiator so was clueless to its existence. Thank you!

Same here, although the suspiciously short length of some of the cables had me hunting for a guide a lot earlier in the process. When I found this video my first thought was "how the heck is that not in the manual?" So I went back and checked. I wish I could paste an image here, because it's so dumb. It's angled from above the fan, so you see the connection to the controller, and a cable going off the bottom of the image. If you look closely enough, you'll see a few millimeters of it looping back up and disappearing behind the edge of the fan. That's it. The actual connector is not visible whatsoever, and nowhere else in the manual is the connector on the side of the fan shown. Someone decided these were clear enough instructions. Sheesh.

Just got most of my parts for my new build and am going with this link set-up. Going to go with the H150i Link AIO, then replace the two 120mm fans on my GPU Radiator with the Link fans, then link to two more 140mm QX fans on the bottom of the case. And Finally connect the rear QX fan to the AIO or the bottom fans. (Have to see the space situation first) As a FYI, Corsair is now selling the Link AIO Radiators with the LCD display. (Also has the standalone LCD you can replace the old one with but it's on back-order atm) Many thanks for the video! The cable thing isn't that bad. Just installed a QX140 starter kit. Then after confirming the other fan sizes, ordered another single QX140. Both the kit AND the single come with a short right-angle cable. Not sure if it's an update or not, but unless one is trying to connect something way across the case, or a straight plug is either ideal or a must for "perfection," you're set.

@WebGremlin Жыл бұрын
It's important to note there's a limitation of 7 devices per connection side on the hub. That means if you have a Corsair 7000 case and want to mount 4 120mm fans on the front and 4 on the side, there's one fan that can't be part of the daisy chain and needs to be cabled separately. Likewise, in an AIO setup with a push/pull configuration, so 6 fans, and the rad itself counting as a device too, you're already maxed out. So you can't have your rear exhaust linked to the rad and would need to cable that separately as well. But the hub only has two connections for a maximum of 14 devices. So in a setup like that you're at 16 devices and thus you'll need two Link hubs to connect them all -- and long cables to loop all the way from one side of the case to another. Which might be a problem since the longest Link cable is only 600mm. The Link system would work decently well in a 5000 case, where you can 'only' have 6 intake fans on the front, bringing you down to 14 total devices. But still, if you have a push/pull AIO you're going to have to connect your rear fan all the way to the front fans because the AIO completely saturates one side. So I feel the system is really contradicting itself. The concept is great because you minimise cabling immensely when you have a large amount of fans - such as their cases *enable* you to have - yet the system doesn't work well if you do. Which could be remedied instantly if it would allow just one more device per side. A missed opportunity if you ask me.

With your set up you leave 2 slots on the aio fan near the exhaust fan and you can plug this in there in one of the slots of that fan... I have the aio wires to the back of the case but it gives me only one slot on a fan because the aio pipes are in the way effectively stopping me from daisy chaining the exhaust to the aio fan.

Did you install the side fans and then place the cover back on, on the inside?... I'm debating to do same thing and buy the Corsair RGB 9 set of the triangle lights. 😊

Great video and very helpful. I purchased the 360mm radiator and 4 fans. Everything appeared to have installed fine and RGB is working and the pump header shows the default cooler temp display, however I don't appear to have any display settings within Icue to change the display of the pump header. Ive powered off and disconnected the PSU overnight and also disconnected and re connected all cables but still no option to change the display on the pump. I have also plugged direct into a USB header on MOBO rather that using the provided splitter. Have you come across this issue at all and if so how did you resolve it? TIA

I plan on building my pc sometime this year (getting parts peice by peice. This lighting just might be the play (eventhough it cost alot)

Am I wrong in think that if you buy the starter kit, the h150i kit and a single fan you should have enough cables to connect it all up without buying an additional cable?

@ 16:51 for my evga psu, that cable is labeled VGA I don’t have any labeled pcie. Would this go where I power my gpu (vga) or where it’s labeled peripherals on the psu?

Same here vga, peripheral or sata what adapter is that I got a msi psu

It's a big step forward but we are not there yet. We need a joint effort to make the "connections" already at the case and a new plug in the motherboard that receive device ID, RGB, PWM and Tacometer and power out. At the case one single plug would plug at this new mobo plug where we control fan RPM/profile, RGB lights, pump, etc at a software level. System wide compatible with any fan/pump/etc using this new standard.

Does the power cable and motherboard cable come with the kit or do you also have to buy that separately?

What was the 3rd cable that gets connected into the hub? Is that a MB supplied cable? Its a 2 pin connector.

can we just use a single cable connecting all the fans(lets say 10 fans) and just daisy-chain and then to the controller? plus on the h150i hub, is the usb connector necessary as if we already connect to the motherboard usb from the controller?

In theory yes

so it's still connected with 4 screws making it hard to remove from the case or radiator for cleaning purpose.

Hello, thanks for the great video and explanation. Are the fans quit? Because i want a system with less noise.
@TheProvokedPrawn Жыл бұрын
That really depends on the case and how hot your system gets tbh. They can be quiet but not at full speed but that's the same with any system

can you install these fans on top of the radiator in a pull configuration or will they touch the top of the radiator then?
@Ruiso7 Жыл бұрын
Hope they make a custom cable to power the controller directly from their PSU. Like I don't like using one of those cables that have a pair of 6+2, like the one shown in the video...

I was planning to get a Kraken elite 360 but change the fans to the QX120 fans, how do I do as you can't buy the little cable that goes to the cpu_fan header separately and therefore there wouldnt be a cable connected to the header

small update, in my qx12 rgb starting kit I got one short 90 90 degree cable, and one long straight 90 degrees cable. so they listened to the feedback :)
