As an artist from Russia I almost cried watching the end of the video. Shayna, you're literally the only creator I've seen so far who spoke about the situation from this point of view and showed support. You're totally right about everything and while it's heartbreaking to see things going on in the political arena, regular people and artists who have nothing to do with it are suffering too, losing their revenue and following and having to start from scratch. KZbin itself might be blocked here in a few days which is devastating cause your videos are such a source of joy and relief and I love love love watching them. As for being a creative, I think one of the most important lessons to learn is to look at things based on a journey more than a destination, especially goals. I find it more satisfying and meaningful and heartfelt when I know I’m writing, taking self-paced online classes (loophole!), playing piano, singing, experimenting, taking in inspiration (movies, videos, documentaries, books, anything to give me strength and analyze and possibly mimic/“steal” from one day) from what I refer to as the heart. It’s like a metaphor for love. Love is patient, tolerant, genuine, and wants the best. It persists in various circumstances and isn’t afraid to thrive or be in the moment! This mindset also makes me feel happy and heard as an artist but also a human being. I have something beautiful. I have the ability to appreciate art and learn more about it. It’s that “give life a meaning” thing we’re familiar with.
