Love this video! 🧡🍊😄 Just the kind of bright, sunny inspiration I needed today and I'll be re-watching a few times. Thanks for showing the difference between blanched and not. I never even thought about blanching citrus. I will likely try that as well, to sample the taste difference. Anyway, thanks for all you do to keep us (or at least me, lol) motivated! 😋👍

Just finished to do the Candy’d oranges, but with clementines! I like it! And it takes less time to dry to, I would say though, in order to keep some better shape, slice them more thick 😅 hihi

FYI, you can make orange vinegar with the rinds (or any fruit parts and pieces) just by adding a (non chlorinated/pre boiled water) to the jar, add a couple tablespoons of cane sugar and cover with a breathable lid, coffee filter, napkin or paper towel. Stir daily for several weeks then use a non metallic lid and store for several more weeks. Wha- lah, homemade vinegar. Dilute before using. Great for cleaning, cooking, laundry softener, dishwasher rinse and also a great rinse for your hair. 😅 Thanks for sharing! Always appreciate out of the box ideas.

My wife and I just started watching your channel and we enjoy it. We travel 48 states on a motorcycle and tent camp. Sometimes we're on the road for 2 weeks. We're starting to dehydrate and freeze our food. We're going to vacuum seal our food, so do we need to use the moisture packs along with the oxygen packs? Doberman
@ThePurposefulPantry Жыл бұрын
Explain more. If you are vacuum sealing with a machine, you don't need either absorber. If you're putting in a mylar bag with an O2 absorber, you don't use moisture absorbers.

What a great idea. I have to say though and most videos nowadays is all about freeze dried. Not everyone can afford them. Here in the uk the cost of running them also will skyrocket the electricity bills by more then $200 or more. Think I’ll stick to the old way.
@ThePurposefulPantry Жыл бұрын
I think maybe KZbin is showing you more of that -- there are plenty of dehydrating videos out there!

@@ThePurposefulPantry yes you are right. But it’s also something I’ve noticed. I’m not talking about your videos just in general ❤️

I just might have to do some stove top potpourri, looks fantastic. I wonder how it would be simmering it in a small slow cooker, like you would use for dips or something. Not as bad of a hazard if it boils dry and don't have to worry about the stove being on.

Yep - that's one of the suggestions in the post about them ;)
