Can you do a video on what your gameday routine was like in the NFL?
@nelsonw20963 жыл бұрын
Nice work! The emotion of the players and the coaching staff on both sidelines at the beginning of the game is probably also a good reason to script things. From my limited days playing, I recall that everyone is pretty keyed up at the beginning of the game and having a specific plan to keep everyone focused could be valuable.

Great Advice coach , I like to run random scripts in PRACTICE only, this is so its fun the Q.B has to think and react in a non pressure situation no judgments here other than throwing into double bad coverage Interceptions are allowed if its 1 on 1 , but game time I like to stay solid with the run first usually outside so it sets up all our stretch bootlegs and playaction as we get to the redzone area. I always tell my guys we don't want to show our best plays until we have them in a checkmate situation (should I blitz or play zone/ man here area of the fields) , you can usually tell once you get to the 40-30 yard line on the scoring side who on the defense is shaking worrying about oh God what's coming next at me. GREAT VIDEO

How does playaction work ? PassProtection-wise how is it called when it's not a bootleg or a naked, like a dive action from undercenter with the qb climbing up the pocket after his dropback looking for a shot ?

Hey JT they say "the NFL is a copy cat league" . To what degree is that true? Can you give examples? I know they use more styles of offense in college and l understand why .

What is the best way to write your play calling sheet? I know they’re not all the same...but what all would be on the huge laminated play calling sheet? I notice all the color coordination and sometimes it’s even front and back. Is it separated by offensive formations? By defensive formations? Situations?
@mikeglennon83193 жыл бұрын
I think he made a video about that not too long ago

JT any chance we can get your take on what each team in SB can do to attack the other teams defense?
@TheFranchiseCA3 жыл бұрын
The big difference with high school in particular is that you see huge mismatches sooner; you know what you want to attack and what to stay away from more easily than in the NFL.

Though I think this is probably in the course (and this is an old video), I've a question: At what point is a team shifting from information-gathering to exploiting the defense? Context: You mentioned that one reason to script plays is to gain information on personnel, substitutions, formations, and all that other stuff. You're learning what the defense is (in theory) going to do going forward in the game. Looking up some quick numbers, it seems that there's ~60 plays per game per team, and ~10 drives a game. I think I'm reading that right. I imagine that learning that information is important, and that one wouldn't be *too* bothered by, say, not scoring a touchdown on the first drive. Or maybe the first 15 plays. Yes, you *want* to get a touchdown every play, but realistically, I imagine that spending...a quarter of your offensive time to learning the defense would be okay? Is an offense really looking to take advantage of the defense in,say, the second quarter? Obviously you do in the second half (you mentioned it in the video) due to halftime adjustments, but... Am I completely off, or did some teams prefer to kinda slow-play the offense?
@mjciavola3 жыл бұрын
Do the 15 scripted plays continues where left off if you don't keep the drive alive? For example, after a 3 and out, do you pick it up again when you get possession?

So. I was watching Tyreke hill. He is a beast. Obviously. But people are legit scared of him. Several DB’s in the last game (even all year) were in man coverage. 8 yards of cushion. But the DB steadily looked at the quarterback. Not set and began backpedaling before tyreke even made a move. Didn’t work out so well. Can you do a video on how to covet

Are there scripted defensive plays? Also, do some teams wait until after half-time to use them?
@TheQBSchool3 жыл бұрын
Not that I'm aware of. Maybe like first 3rd and short pressure. 3rd and long coverage, etc.
@KingdomOfNoise1Ай бұрын
Thanks for this. I thought scripted meant rehearsed by both teams since opposing teams run practices against each other. I'm an idiot. What do I know. Thanks for the explanations.

Is most of Jared Goff's plays scripted? Does it look like he can change his own plays or is it all McVay?
@barrymacockener60913 жыл бұрын
Both. Sometimes they call 2 plays in the huddle and goff hits them with the “kill kill” to revert to the second play. For example, they can call something like wing tight zebra, jet soar lion and if they don’t like the first play off numbers they can go to the second play
@JohnnyMidey3 жыл бұрын
@@barrymacockener6091 the order is wrong so imma correct your fake playcall because otherwise I would be mad for rest of the day: Zebra wing tight right 3 jet soar lion. Also teams dont call 2 plays in the huddle but plays will have a get out option built in which either alters the play or gets you into a play that will attack the adjustment from the defense.
@CASEMSTR3 жыл бұрын
@@JohnnyMidey in some cases there are legit 2 plays in the huddle. You will see often with the better QBs like Brady and Rodgers that they will get 1 from the headset, and one from themselves. Tom is always reading a second play off his wristband.
@JohnnyMidey3 жыл бұрын
@@CASEMSTR you are talking about the audible system, which is different then the coach calling in 2 plays. The closest thing to 2 plays being called is when it has a built in can (ex: *formation stuff* 19 wanda can 18 support) but thats if they face a front they dont like.
