I see teams at NFL level pair jet sweep and the sniffer shovel. Essentially, it's a way to use power read without getting your QB killed. The QB shuffles wide with the jet while reading that C gap defender. If he holds his ground, the jet gets it. But if the C gapper widens with the jet, the QB shovels it to the trailing sniffer. Doesn't have to be paired with jet. Could do it with a sidecar from the gun, too.

So all the clips were ones in which the Carl stayed outside, what does it look like if the Carl plays the QB can the play still work or is it not designed to succeed in that case?

i think we only ever handed off the bash on GT. It was not a staple for us.
