Big shoutout to Rachel. Every time she co-hosts with Dave (her dad), he talks over her and interrupts. I’m not sure he even realizes he does it. She handles it with professionalism and grace. To his credit, his commentary is always spot on. Rachel: Keep shining. Dave: Do better. To both: We (as a country and individuals) are better because of what you do. Thank you!

Dave is wrong when he says Gold has a 2% rate of return over 60 years. It's about 7.2% still less than the overall market rate of return, but triple what he thought it was. Don't dump everything into gold or silver. But as a hedge against inflation it could be a small part of a well diversified portfolio.

Regarding Valerie who is looking to replace her Toyota Camry - go to some of the reputable used car dealers in your area and tell them what you are looking for because they have access to dealer auctions and can possibly find a Camry you're looking for, or they may get one in on trade. I would also go tell your local new car dealers especially if you have a Toyota dealer to let you know if one comes in on trade. I think you would be happy with a comparable Honda Accord too IMO I've owned a few and they are extremely reliable and comfortable cars. Good luck!

For some, short-term investing in floating rates is simply a default position as they find that stocks are highly valued everywhere, meaning that perfection is often at a premium, which increases the risk for some thoughtful investors. It's not necessarily a matter of timing. For others, it's a way to build a neutral portfolio in a situation fraught with uncertainty. Finding a good investment advisor goes a long way toward organizing and planning this. I recommend Dan Price CFA because of his unique understanding and analytical approach to the markets.

Three years ago, I made a decision that I now realize was not my wisest. I leased my Q60 car for $500 a month with a $5,000 downpayment for 38 months. Looking back, it was one of the dumbest things I could have done. However, I'm not here to dwell on the past. Today, I'm here to share with you a story of redemption and inspiration. When my husband offered to let me drive his Jeep Grand Cherokee, I should have taken him up on his generous offer. But my ego got in the way, and I leased my Q60 instead. Then COVID hit, and I didn't drive the car nearly as much as I thought I would. Now, with my lease coming to an end next month, I was faced with a tough decision. Should I pay off the $20.5K payoff amount and keep the car or return it and pay the associated costs? After careful consideration, I made a bold move and chose to purchase and pay off the car. Some might say it wasn't the best financial decision, but I feel differently. I could have returned the car, but with today's high car prices, I don't think I could have gotten as nice of a car for the same price. I could have financed it, but why pay more than the actual residual amount in interest? Plus, after years of paying for a lease, it feels amazing to be debt-free. I learned a valuable lesson from this experience: feeding your ego doesn't do you any good. While it might feel good in the moment, in the long run, it's not worth it. Instead of spending $59K on a luxury car, I could have saved or invested that money. But as they say, experience is the best teacher, and I sure did get a costly lesson. Now, I'm focused on building my wealth back up again, one day at a time. To anyone reading this, I hope my story inspires you to make better financial decisions. Don't let your ego get in the way of your financial well-being. Remember, every small decision you make today can have a huge impact on your future. Keep fighting and striving towards your goals, and never give up on your dreams.

Thank you. I’m 69 yo and I had a credit card one time in 1993 ( sent to me by mistake even though I told the nice lady that it was the right name and address but incorrect ssn). She got my ssn and told me to keep it, so I decided to give it a test run, but only used it for about 6 months when I saw the writing on the wall. I was then told I had great credit so I could buy a car. I went to the dealership and bought my dream vehicle. About 3 months later I was involved in a hit and run with witnesses that did about $24,000 damage to the car. Automatically it was worth lots less and my insurance company raised my Rates $400 a month after initially canceling it altogether. I let it go back. I have owned several companies and I’ve never obtained a bank loan ( except student ). I drive a 2005 Camry with 285 k miles and it still runs great. I have considerable medical problems but I’m a veteran. But as you can see I’m still around( as of this writing). I told a banker one time I had no revolving credit and she said I was basically dead. That’s what people think. That you’re useless as a human being if you don’t have good credit. I say f them all. Sincerely, debt free. My motto “If you don’t have it don’t spend it”. Americans are drowning in debt but most people I talk to say they pay their cards off every month 🫣They’re in denial and perceive happiness as buying junk they don’t need. I have friends who literally have rooms full of junk in boxes they haven’t ever even opened! Sorry I’m rambling on a rant.

omg i love Dave and Rachel's chemistry dynamic! And yes I agree with everything Dave said about finances and life wisdoms but when it comes to "conspiracies" I'm gonna have to side with Rachel on this!!! lol too funny! Actually I would love to hear both of you touch on stuff that's happening in current world with politics and covid and all these conspiracies that came out to be true! from time to time! It's so entertaining ! :)
