What people don’t realize about Animal is that Ranvijay does indeed face the consequences of his actions. He loses his senses, his wife leaves him because he cheated on her, his father is dying (despite Ranvijay doing so much to prevent that). He’s literally left with nothing.

I have a counter opinion. In Kabir Singh, the guy loses his doctor license and almost lost his girlfriend. He only gets her back by begging her keeping aside all his ego. Similarly, in Animal, he loses everything, his ears, his professional life, his heart (before transplant), and in the end his wife leaves him too.. It is a dark movie with complex emotion.. That in my view, isn't glorifying stuff..

Because you guys missed the whole point of the film. Film is very consistent. And its a character driven film not storydriven. Story is catering to character, not character catering to story. Every scene was important to understand character. He is guy who will go to any lengths to protect his family especially after betrayal by his brother in law. He will go to any length. Even if he has to go morally bankrupt. In first half he is shown as a protective force. In second half he is shown as a destructive force. It has a lot of mental voilence aswell. Even this cheating scene was important to explain how his mentality is. He literally promised his wife that he will never cheat and ends up doing exactly that. It was to show how in his obsession to protect his family that he would stoop so low. He shown as a guy constantly spiralling downward. He has got consequence for everything. He lost his sense of hearing and touch. His wife leaves him. His father is going to dieeee eitherway. He is left with nothing but with pathetic need to validation. And this movie is not about child abuse. Its based on child negligence. Its the best film of 2023, if you are mature you will understand. He did not went after the critic. Its critic who doesn't even know how to criticise. All they could talk about is ideology. No music no direction no bgm. No action set peices no drama no screenplay. Its just pathetic. Like they came with that pathetic excuse. Why there was no police. Because nothing could be tied to him. For example in college, the college is of his father. Who pulls sone strings to save him. He literally says if it wasn't for him. He would be in jail. The jija kiling scene. He kils him in hotel that is owned by himself. And he has control over security. And on top of that he disposed those bodies of. Its literally shown in the film. He even tells his sister that he disposed of the body of her husband. So it was established, nothing could be tied to him. And interval block fight scene was seen as an assassination attempt on Ranvijay. That too in his own hotel. So he fights them off in his own hotel with his own security which is his own cousin. Again Police can't tie anything to him. There were so many subtle details throughout the film. But I guess stpd Indian audience is used to spoonfeeding they just missed the half film. Its very subtle. Everything in this film was inline with the main character.

Who said that the protagonist of "Kabir Singh" and "Animal" survived and did not suffer any suffering or consciousness. In "Kabir Singh", the protagonist had suffered a lot for his love and then he finally found his love. And the "Animal" Protagonist, who created so much destruction to save his father, could not save him in the end and the girl whom he loved so much also went away. On the other hand if you see an Italian movie called 'Irreversible 2002', there are horrible scenes like brutality, violence and rape because of which it was also not accepted by their audience & also banned on few locations too. But later on one of that movie artist quoted saying that actually what's being shown in that movie thats the fact, the reality which is most of us has same animal character inside of us. Only problem is when any director portrays that on screen, we don't want to see the animal inside of us, dont accept it even if its true. No idea about animal , but there was a clear glorofication of the character arjun reddy in the film. After he became a raging alcoholic druh addict he is still performing surgeries with ease, he has women from all backgrounds throw themselves at him- nurses, patients, filmstars, neighbors. He is a HERO . Like i understand that theres one mad girl in love with him. But everyone? That too when he is at his worst behavior. this happened only in the movie. In real life guys who try to be arjun reddy would also ruin their education, ruin in their career, and the life of ppl around them n then blame the girl who left him due to his bad behaviour for his failure. Not sure whether you've watched Kabir Singh or Arjun Reddy(I haven't seen Kabir Singh). Coz in Arjun Reddy, he cannot perform a surgery, he directs the head nurse to do it. He got his medical license revoked for that. He almost became a homeless. Even if the film star throws herself at him, He was not able to move on. He couldn't do the deed. I mean, It's always convenient for a guy to move on to a better girl, right? Yet he complains that girl was in love with him, so he couldn't do it?😂 Arjun Reddy is a complex character who doesn't know how to deal with emotions which is exactly what the director wanted to show. Just when he started making amends, everything comes in place for him. It's just how you perceive the film. If you watch it as an art, it is quite the art. If you watch with moral compass, it's not the right film for you👍✌️

Thats what I also think that our culture since long time ago is like if someone even crosses all the limits of crime etc then he gets or should get the proper lesson at the end of his life. So yeah based on that bollywood movies are also being produced like that whether villain's character is how much of dark but at the end of the movie he or she gets the proper lesson aur sacchai ki jeet hoti hai. So we Indians are used to it which is good. Hence, conclusion is if Animal's dark character would have come to an end in finishing scenes because of the crime they did then may be people would not have been talking about its toxicity everywhere instead some of the audience would have accepted it.

I am a Ranbir fan. Ranbir has acted well in the movie, no doubt. But I did not feel that the movie was like story telling. It just felt like some sequences were put out to show something. There are so many variables that play when you are in your duty alcohol on top of that will just blow away everything. You can’t be a drunkard all day and be a perfect doctor. The lady is contradicting herself. On one side she says the director should have artistic liberty and in the same breath she says that the hero should have met his karma in the end ! What BS. I loved the movie , not despite its complexities and controverisal ways of handing different aspects, but because of them.

Actually script and story matters the most. Good and bad thing doesn't count. *Best examples are Don and Don2,,,where Srk is a purely Evil and he kills his duplicate (innocent srk) and at last he escapes from the cop,,, Another such movie is "Once upon a time in mumbai" when Shoaib's character played by Emran hashmi,,,that character has got negative and dark shades,,,and at the end Shoaib's character kills the Sultan Mirza's character (good guy)played by Ajay devgn,,,and take over the whole syndicate,,,,Still that film was a superhit at the box-office* .no body talked about the karma of these characters 😂

The movie has glamorized aggression, violence, misogyny and toxic masculinity as a cool character in men...so called Alpha male...unbelievable...Sandeep Reddy Vanga is a sick and irresponsible men to direct these kind of movie, Ranbir Kapoor to play that character and Rashmika Mandanna to play the girl who is fine with all his behavior including cheating. I remember when 'DELHI BELLY' was released in 2011, there was a lot of discussion over its A-rated content, and in every interview, its producer Amir Khan requested people that this movie is not for everyone to watch and may not be suitable for everyone's liking. The problem with the 'ANIMAL' movie is not the story or its dark characters but its director Sandeep Vanga Reddy's thought process...he shouldn't have gone around justifying the character's toxic masculinity. Instead, it should be left to the audience to decide what they want to make out of the story, the characters and their actions.
