This is probably the best reaction video and analysis of evermore that I have seen! I especially liked the fact that you didn’t consider “you were there” solely as a person but something that can also be interpreted as abstract. Thank you, it was a joy watching you. ♥️

Taylor also recently did an interview where she says ‘sometimes I struggle with feeling like a person’ and then looks at the camera and says ‘but don’t feel bad for me, I’m fine, really’ and it just really goes towards what you talk about in regards to disassociation. She struggles with feeling like a person and even feels like she’s been put on such a pedestal that she doesn’t deserve sympathy for her traumas because she has other good things in her life.

This is such a beautiful analysis. Thank you so much for letting us know the hidden meanings. The fact that Taylor’s love, Joe Alwyn, co-wrote this song is so spectacular. Evermore is such an underrated masterpiece by Taylor. Folklore and evermore did save my life during 2020. The intricate details in her lyrics always leave my heart extremely pleased. Honestly, Taylor is like a personal therapist to me. She has cured my mental health problems so many times with her soothing voice and exceptional lyrics. I cried with her songs. I smiled with her songs. And I grew up with her songs. She will always be my most important human being in my life. Could you please make an analysis for “my tears ricochet”? Love you!

You're so emotionally brilliant. And its so refreshing to see someone like you sensitive with so much empathy. Im studying to become a psychologist like you:) and I really admire you, it's incredible how fast you interpret feelings, how deep you can really see, where most people don't. Love the reactions so much♥️

Please please PLEASE!!! Right Where You Left Me. It's the best song I think from both of the sister albums. Your videos are unlocking something in me, haha. Your analysis of these songs which I adore are sparking emotions to these songs I don't usually have. Yes they are deep, emotional songs, but I find myself responding more emotionally with your explanations. Yes I know what these songs are about to me, but your explanations unlock other perspectives, and they're just spot on. So thank you.

Evermore is so underrated! This song makes me cry every time, it speaks right into my soul, I love it and hate it lol this is one of my favorite songs or her, as someone who has been through depression I remember listening to this song and relating to every single thing, it's still painful
@jenniferraymus90312 жыл бұрын
This song crushes my soul because I have trauma from being bullied by adults within some organizations I volunteered in. I experience what I believe public figures do when I meet someone new and they already know who I am but I don’t know if they know about the real me or the lies that these bullies tried to make other people believe about me. I even considered moving out of state to get a fresh start because I rarely leave my house or participate in school and other kids activities because I am so traumatized. I don’t know if it will ever get better otherwise. I feel so bad for anyone that feels this way. It’s no way to live.

taylor said on instagram the other day that one of the upcoming songs in midnights called "anti-hero" is all about that feeling of dissociation, her insecurities and "feeling that fame makes her feel like she's not a human anymore". i'm soooo looking forward to listen to that one!!!!! "get well soon" by ariana grande is all about that dissociation and ptsd kinda vibe.. consequences of the bombings at her manchester concert

Once again, you are SO right!! I honestly didn't even think this song could be about Kayne (mostly cause it's song sorta like a duet between 2 "lovers" (I had always thought)), but you are SO right!! 😥

I've always interpreted "Writing letters addressed to the fire" as a way of letting go of trauma and the negative energies around it. Writing little notes with the things that keep haunting you and then burning them is quite common among different spiritual beliefs (I'm norse pagan btw). Fire is the most transformative element to work with, both in a neo-pagan and some very old traditions. In my family and friend group, we do this every New Years Eve and every time we need to let go of something that's too heavy to carry till then. Now, I don't know much about Taylor's spiritual/ religious beliefs - it could be totally out of this context - but I thought it's a perspective worth mentioning :)

I’ve always been torn on whether the “ you” she mentions was a) Joe, bc this all happened while she was becoming infatuated with him. B) her music(especially after watching the cardigan music video with her literally being tossed around in waves before finding her saving grace, her music. Or c) her fans, I think back to mirror ball for this reason, mentioning how as an artist she has to struggle and work incredibly hard to keep the attention of her fans bc the critics say her career is near its end but we “ are not like the regulars, the masquerade revelers, drunk as they watch my shattered edges glisten.” I think one or all three could be true at once.

I think the hollowest part of the "I made that B**** famous" line is that the incident in question was when he interrupted her WHILE SHE WAS RECEIVING AN INDUSTRY AWARD ON NATIONAL TELEVISION FOR BEST MUSIC VIDEO. This was one of the songs where when i first listened to it i immediately knew i connected and related to it. Taylor can describe and understand what it is like to be in a very deep state of depression/ bad ptsd very good. Taylor is one of those very special artist who gets it, knows what it is like and writes about it in amazing detail.

I really appreciate your interpretations and perspective on these songs. This is for sure one of my favorite Taylor songs. You introduced me to some new words like depersonalization and perseverate that help to identify feelings I understand so well. Also, in relation to earlier in the video when discussing society objectifying women, if you haven't, I highly suggest listening to Billie Eilish "Not My Responsibility".

Funny how her lyrics can take us all on different journeys. I’ve thought about when she wrote this song. After being cancelled. We are going through Covid. Political upheaval. Rep. Marsha Blackburn’s win in November(gray November) Changes since Trump’s win. And, Marsha Blackburn came for Taylor in July the following year Costs, lost and being tall again. Standing for what you believe in.

Totally agree with all the Kanye crap. Like, their controversy started because she WON a VMA and he interrupted her speech. He did that BECAUSE she was already famous before she even met him. But yeah, preaching to the choir. I'm only 5 min in, so multiple comments are possible lol

I love your analysis, I also did see it as you did. It’s crazy how you know who thinks/sings about making Tay famous. For me as an international swiftie who’ve never heard about you, and the first introduction of you is of you interrupting her moment when she is receiving her award is really not looking good. To make it worse you just interrupted their fave’s moment LMAOOO. BTW have you heard peace? It’s also a beautiful song by Taylor Swift, also listen to Epiphany it’s a song tribute to her grandfather on her father’s side also about the medical personnel on the frontlines for Covid. Marjorie is a great song a tribute to her grandmother on her mother’s side!
@yara55022 жыл бұрын
The part you mentioned about Taylor presenting Kanye with the award that night( the vanguard I think) A lot of people don´t know this and thought that this was a night they were friends, but what actually happened was : when he got on stage after her presenting him with the award, he screamed that he was mad at the network for making Taylor present him with the award (which was a lie obviously ,he asked her to do it) and that he never would have chosen her, that he wanted nothing to do with her etc and then he said he was running for president(he was obviously releasing new music, like every other time he uses people ) There are pictures of her from that night, at first standing with her arms around Kim K. and then her face with the shock of what he was saying and then Taylor backing away from Kim. When he got off stage he tried to talk to her but Taylor refused, he then sent her flowers apologizing yet again... So when 2016 phonecall happened it was more than just what they did to her there, it was also all the other times he manipulated her that led to her just not having it with him calling her the B-word and the video and so on. She was standing up for herself for the first time and then she was "cancelled"...Just like Scooter he had been messing with her many times, for a long time for her whole career. Anyways, Great reaction❤

Men like Kanye west make me sick. He did not just publicly humiliated her at 19 when she got her FIRST Vma, but he also did all that 2016 mess after she released “Innocent” in 2010, which is a song about Kanye saying that he’s actually innocent and it doesn’t matter what he did to her she got over it. What disturbs me the most is how the media genuinely thought that she’d accept to be called that in a song, honestly, shame on all of those people, you can be or not be a fan but what happened there wasn’t about being a fan, it was about being evil. There are quite some female artists that I don’t like, but if something like this happened to them I could never stand by the side of sexism. Hate the way they made her feel after she did NOTHING, they needed a reason to hate her and Kanye fed them. Also, I’m not going to talk about all the complaints about her dating life “Is Taylor Swift turned on by America?”, this exact message was sent on the TV. I’m speechless, but it’s pretty funny how if you search “Taylor Swift vams” you’ll only find Taylor, while if you search “K4nye w3st vmas “ you will find tons of pictures of Taylor
