It’s really fun to race, but also fun to view my footage afterwards and share with my channel! :)

Hey Josh, I’m a newbie here, but I love your videos. I’ve spent the last few days binge watching, I really enjoy the music, telemetry, high quality voice overs and the editing. It’s all *chefs kiss*

Great video, well done. Some other riders doing some not so safe race manoeuvres in there......😬

Excellent vid Josh. A very accurate assessment of that course. It’s definitely energy sapping and tricky with those tight U-turns. I really enjoyed your rundown on your race strategy/tactics too. Congrats on snagging a podium spot. I watch a lot of cycling videos and take this as a big compliment, when I say you are at the top of the list. Great stuff keep ‘em coming

Well done Josh! Impressive work at the end there to get second. And great overview of tactics for West Head RR. Just a shame you were up against my boy SDW (Steve de Wit) who is an absolute animal! That was his first race!
@joshkwan3 ай бұрын
Haha I could tell he was strong. He was pulling back a lot of the attacks as well as sitting on the front tonnes. To be fair the strongest rider won which was him. His timing was also really good, so props to him

Good effort, nice to see your training paying dividends. You're sprints getting better & better. I raced at Heffron Park in the early 2000s & loved cycling in Sydney. Keep it up bud 👍

Love this breakdown of the racecraft. Getting up near Lanterne Rouge! I think you give yourself too little credit, and the cross-training isn't hurting you either!

Hi Josh , how and where do you get your telemetry on your video from the Bike?
@joshkwanАй бұрын
Hey mate. I use a software called Telemetry Overlay, it costs about $150 USD from my memory. You can sync the footage to the data file to get the on screen data. Then you tinker the overlay to suit your desired overlay.

Regarding the frequency of the West Head RR. I live in the supposed cycling cornucopia of canberra and we have maybe 5 or 6 road races a year with AusCycling affiliated clubs.

@joshkwan3 ай бұрын
Haha yea the reflectors. Luckily they just bump you a bit while you’re riding, but don’t pose too much danger. Would avoid them if possible since they probably scrub a bit of speed off you. Hope you enjoyed the racing footage, it’s quite different to running races 😋
@stevelind64992 ай бұрын
Great video but… crossing the centre white line is a no no at West Head RR. Call me a stickler but position is a reward for good racing, not something achieved by going off course. If it was on the grass, that would be different. Not that you were the only one. Keep the videos coming though, great to watch.
@joshkwan2 ай бұрын
That is fair enough mate, and to be honest I would have loved to stay left of the lines. But the group fanned out so much it was almost impossible not to.
@Richard-qe7st2 ай бұрын
Agree with this - it used to be an instant DQ if you’re seen crossing the line. The turn around used to be much further down the hill about 10!years back (by the gate entrance) so you had an horrific 15% grade to take on from a standing start back to the finish line. Proud to say I held off the peloton once for the win but I was very glad I didn’t wear a heart monitor as it nearly killed me! Great video and explanation. Keep it up and move up the grades….
