Yo John, maybe you did or didn't know but they did a reissue of the original Bebop and Rocksteady. It wasn't made as big a deal as the other releases, but during the Haulathon with the Punk Turtles was when it was available. The paint applications were updated, the joints are much better, and they stand fairly well.

Bebop and Rocksteady are frequently paired. Yes, the “TMNT” franchise has had quite a few memorable duo besides them. Other examples include, Tokka and Rahzar, Dirtbag and Groundchuck, and Wingnut and Screwloose.

It's great you can make accessories for these figures, however you shouldn't have to. Hopefully it's just your vacation bebop and rocksteady that has this glaring issue. Or maybe you threw it out with the plastic. Sometimes that can happen, especially with small pieces.

one thing that i notice is that in the earlier seasons, bebop and rocksteady are huge. by the time they went on vacation as this were based on, the were smaller. Even Neca changed their scale for the newer episodes 😁

The hat is meant to wedge into the notches on Rocksteady's head. If you look next to the ears you'll notice them. It's not perfect, but it'll hold once you get it wriggled in there.

The idea of them taking time off from worrying about the turtles is endearing in a strange way. It really humanizes these guys and shows you they are individuals with their own goals and need for stress relief/friendship as well. Such a simple way to make a statement about the often narrowly written villains.
