I'm on Taking Back Sunday's side here in terms of "There's No I in Team" vs. "Seventy Times Seven", in terms of music. I absolutely love Brand New and Taking Back Sunday, but Brand New didn't come into their own until Deja Entendu. At the time that Taking Back Sunday wrote "There's No I in Team" and Brand New wrote "Seventy Times Seven", Brand New hadn't found their identity yet and Your Favorite Weapon sounded like a poor man's Taking Back Sunday. I stand by both bands until the end, you don't have to choose just one, and I listen to both of them for different reasons. That being said, you're comparing a song from Taking Back Sunday's second-best album (I insist that Louder Now is their masterpiece) and a song from what is by far Brand New's weakest (I can't choose whether I prefer Deja Entendu or The Devil and God are Raging Inside Me). If you ask me to compare "Make Damn Sure" or "Cute Without the E" to "Sic Transit Gloria" or "Okay I Believe You But My Tommy Gun Don't", I won't be able to choose. @twix8882 Essentially, its about a guy telling his best friend, who he is an argument with, that while he did screw up, the friend is taking it way too seriously and is letting it destroy their friendship. There is a certain backstory to this song that is like...a massive argument over the internet. All anyone KNOWS for certain is that John Nolan and Jesse from Brand New had a falling out over a girl cheating on jesse. Try listening to seventy times seven for the other side of the story.

Seventy times seven is such an amazing song & they just recycled lyrics by brand new and threw in some worse lyrics. I don't understand if this song is asking for forgiveness or just coming at Jesse saying DIE MAD. Writing a song about how you hope your ex best friend crashes and dies is terrible. I feel like this song here sheds light on how absurd it is to wish that upon someone no matter how they let you down as a friend or how emo you are. I enjoy both bands for what they've provided and understand you couldn't have one without the other, they are both important. Brand News lyrics are a bit more poetic but I still can't get enough of Adam's unique voice all these years later. TBS is a lot more fun but Brand New makes me think more. I like them both and don't understand why people pick one and hate on the other.

This feud is one of the best things to happen in music, without it Brand New and Straylight Run would of never been, and Brand New is without question one of the most talented bands of our time, if not ever, and Jesse lacey one of the greatest song writers ever. Straylight Run had an awesome sound, I love Taking Back Sunday they got me into this music but the other 2 bands are more talented, especially Brand New.

Jesse from Brand New was a part of TBS but there was a big fight and he got kicked out. Jesse wrote Seventy Times 7 about the breakup, this song is TBS's side of the story. so basically they made up by writing sings, pretty cool.
