ok, you guys remember Rhoma Irama right? from the Koplo video. He's not doing dangdut koplo, the information you guys get about him might be wrong. Rhoma Irama is actually the guy who popularized dangdut (perhaps he invented the modern dangdut sound) back in the 70s, he combined the Melayu music, Indian music from Bollywood with rock music because he was influenced with Led Zeppelin or other rock bands from that era. That is why in dangdut having a rock sound or electric guitar is natural, because since the beginning Rhoma introduced those sounds in dangdut. That is why is Rhoma is called Raja Dangdut, translation the King of Dangdut. In mid 2000s, his son Ridho Rhoma tried to modernize the dangdut sound for the newer generation with some covers from his father's songs and I think he's doing a good job, too bad his career did not do well like his father.
