I had the same problem at wally world. I was getting ready to pull into a handicap spot an a teen age girl and her friend came around the corner and pulled into the spot. I said something to them and they laughed and flipped me off. On entering the store after parking further out I saw a cop and talked it to him. He said he would take care of it with a big smile. Can be a 500.00 dollar ticket

I did the same thing once, when some smart-alec kid cut me off and stole the handicapped spot for which I had been waiting. I can't walk more than 1/2 dozen steps before I start experiencing debilitating pain.

Thing about prescriptive easement: use must continue for 20 years under one property owner. If the property is sold, the clock is reset.

Heard this one or one quite similar to it before several times. AS to saying they can't police the parking lot if its private property then its the store's responsibility to monitor and patrol it

Police can and Do police handicap parking in grocery store and mall parking lots

I hate to break the news to you, but "parent with child" reserved parking spaces are NOT a legal thing. The most obvious one of these is at the world's biggest furniture store - which is an excellent reason to suggest that place go back to Sweden and leave us alone. The next closest entitled parking is the one - yes, one - space labeled "reserved for our law enforcement friends" at my local wally-world. News again, but if the "law enforcement friends" are there on official business, they just pull onto the sidewalk closest to the doors and park there until said official business has been completed - just as they were this morning when I was there. If it ain't official business, they are pretty much required to park in regular spaces like everyone else. This one just ain't gonna fly.
