I practice taoist qigong and they identify 4 main spirals of energy (which is inclusive of movement, it's just the felt sensation of such) through the legs. the practice also emphasizes feet forward, and a part of it is that in the inward spiral action, you can still actuate the outward spiral action, while it is easy to spiral outward in a way that disconnects the inward action. for balanced movement, both spirals are actually happening in body at same time, all the time. it's only when we start isolating in order to optimize that we see this. I also note that they sort of consider the leg to go up to the diaphram on each side. they don't see so much of a hard stop of motion at the pelvic juncture. skeletally it sort of looks like that, but muscularly and fascia wise, the connections are inside pelvic bowl and well up into the spine. all the way to top of head if it's working well. I am digging this work your doing, it's connecting to the stuff ive been learning. each is starting to inform the other. rock on

Thank you for showing all these leg and foot positions! What about the position of the pelvis? Anterior or posterior pelvic tilt?

Thank you for highlighting these alternative positions! I haven’t seen a whole lot of peeps doing these but so important to strengthen hips in many angles. 💪🏼 🙌🏼
