I really appreciate her talking about taking medication for her depression and anxiety.
@Dani-ul1fq8 жыл бұрын
xteana It's a real thing people deal with, if you have anxiety you would know what that's not something you'd use as an excuse. Saying anxiety and depression is an excuse is like saying being Bipolar is an excuse or having any mental illness.
@Dani-ul1fq8 жыл бұрын
xteana Yes everyone experiences anxiety and that's normal, but there are proven Anxiety Disorders which are a serious mental illness. It has been proven, all you have to do is educate yourself on it. An Anxiety Disorder can be as serious as depression and not all Anxiety Disorders are the same just like not all depression levels are the same.
@Dani-ul1fq8 жыл бұрын
xteana An Anxiety Disorder is a real illness and maybe if you tried to educate yourself on the difference between normal anxiety and an Anxiety Disorder, you would know that.

+Dani B I was diagnosed with Anxiety and panic attack disorder. I never took any kind of medications instead I changed my life. Removed toxic people, get divorced, changed my job my nutrition added supplements and use herbs for anxiety. Didn't have panic attacks more than I year and my anxiety is under the control. Valerian and Rescue remedy are the best alternative solutions for panic attacks and anxiety! But most of all remove everything that you believe it's toxic for you and your environment. Don't be afraid to make changes and don't be afraid to start from zero.

@lexi2198 жыл бұрын
I don't think she's hiding anything. There are varying degrees of severity of clinical depression and anxiety, and if she is managing it - seeing a doctor, staying vigilant with medication, staying active, etc. - she likely has much fewer bad days that correspond with days she has to be on camera/the general public is looking at her. I struggled with depression on and off for years, which I never actively hid at all, but I still have people in my life that don't know just because they weren't around during the rough patches.
@veelo858 жыл бұрын
EVERYONE gets depressed and anxious. Yes, but that is far from the same thing as having clinical depression and anxiety. Why don't people understand that.
@sophiademure8 жыл бұрын
Vee Lopez You'd be surprised how the differences in the level of severity are down to individual differences, external factors and how different people cope. The DSM V is not reliable enough to be valid unfortunately.
@MissShootingStar58 жыл бұрын
Well, people often say "I'm feeling depressed today". They say it instead of saying "I'm feeling sad today". Depression is not a fleeting emotion. It's an ongoing struggle, or at least it doesn't just last a day or two.
@msCHIevous948 жыл бұрын
She says that bc its true everyone has their times... but she also says hers is seeious bc ahe takes meds... shes saying it bc its not an UNNORMAL THING to experience. However there are deeper cases... why have an attitude and just be HAPPY that ahes making this an awareness... u know she couldnt have talked about it at all-_-
@usadrones8 жыл бұрын
ayayaya lo exactly. Everyone doesn't experience depression. This confusion is bc people use the incorrect words to describe how they're feeling. using the word depressed instead of sad has become so normalized.
@myparisiandresser76117 жыл бұрын
i totally agree. in french we have 2 different words. one for clinical depression and another for feeling sad. Clinical depression and anxiety are serious problems and it's also important to realize that it's not just because you're not strong enough.

I've had generalized anxiety disorder, bipolar 2, and post traumatic stress disorder my whole life. I wasn't fully diagnosed until my mid 20's after suicidal ideations. My discription of clinical depression in case people don't fully understand the difference between being depressed ( or very sad) and clinical depression. Ex: imagine the worst day you ever had in your life feeling of crying, shaking, worthless not knowing how to live with the pain of life. But relive that day over and over for not just days but weeks and in my case at times months. That's clinical depression it's a ongoing pain that you have to live with by meds, therapy etc. Don't get me wrong anyone depressed Even not clinically is hurting and deserves the same understanding and love. Clinical depression is just a whole other beast to combat

Your physical circumstances can be perfect. Perfect spouse, perfect behaved kids, perfect house, perfect job. You could see no reason be be sad or complain but depression and anxiety doesn’t care. ANYONE can feel those feelings. Whether you are a millionaire or scrambling to make it… YOUR FEELINGS ARE VALID. you don’t have to tell yourself “well my friend has cancer or my cousin lost her husband so what the hell am I depressed and anxious for?” No. Feelings are relative. Don’t compare feelings and circumstances with others. Feel what you need to feel. Reach out when you need to. ITS OK. You’ll be okay 🤎
@yessyrivers56945 жыл бұрын
Kristen Bell, girl I felt like you was talking about me.. I deal with Anxiety and depression it’s the worse but I have to work through it.. I have done the medication thing and it made things 20 times worse for me. i was tried more and I was depressed a lot more than I was without medication.. I have three children that rely on me and need me.. I couldn’t move I just was so tired, didn’t wanna be around anybody I just want to sleep... Now I just push myself and I do everything I can to take care of myself because my children need me the most then anybody else.

Yes, I’m the same with swearing with my kid! He’s going to hear them eventually no matter what. You can’t hide your kids from the world. I would rather just frame them as “adult words” and when he’s a grown up he can make the choice to use them or not. So far it’s worked great, he never says them.

I think its great Kristen is very comfortable talking about her depression and anxiety and keeping her self healthy...but i just want to say that my mother had depression and when the doctor told her to take medication she did it until someone her crazy and that she needed to take her pill from then on she said that i don't need a pill to boost me up I'm not crazy and i will be just fine with out them. From then on my mother hasn't used medication and living life to the fullest because she set her mind to thinking positive of her self. So Kristen i think u are just doing just fine and as long u keep thinking positive you'll get through it
