Philippines have a big similarities with these 3 countries. Indonesia, Mexico, and US, from language to culture. Filipino alphabet have similarities with bahasa langauge and we share the same ancestor. We also have borrowed Spanish words which is almost 30% of the filipino language and most of it have the same meaning in spanish that's why we have similarities with Mexico since they speak spanish. We're also english speakers so we understand English well. Filipino's are very flexible that's why they can easily adapt to other cultures and language.

These are some conversational Filipino sentences hahaha I'd like to know if can you understand them at least the context and what you think meant. It's gonna be a fun experiment hihihi. "Hello, Maria Elena! Kumusta? Ang gwapo ng mga lalaki na nakita ko kaninang alas - onse ng umaga sa parke." "Aba! Ang mga amiga ni Lola, nagsi-siesta sa tapat ng bintana sa sala bago mag meryenda! "Mga estudyante, ilabas ang papel at lapis. Pagkatapos ay i-kopya ang sulat na nasa libro." "Angelo! Hijo! Kumain ka na! May dalang empanada si Tia Linda mo! May plato at baso na sa mesa." Some people may not fully understand them at first glance because some Spanish words are Filipinized/Tagalized in spelling like (Kumusta = Como estas) but if you can spot them, you'd see how similar they are in Spanish. Philippines have a lot of languages other than Filipino/Tagalog. There's also Bisaya, Ilocano, Bicolano, etc. and the Spanish creole, Chavacano and they all have Spanish words in them. Ofcourse there's also a Spanish dialect here in the country Philippine Spanish, but it's an extinct one now and only a few people can still speak it. If you'd like to know what Philippine Spanish sound like, watch this video of President Manuel Quezon speaking it kzbin.info/www/bejne/bGeWoKeFq6-Jfbc

In the Philippines, we both use the common term "unibersidad" (from Spanish ofc), and just as common you can hear people say "pamantasan" which is more accurately the tagalog term for the word university. So University of Manila is either: Unibersidad DE Manila (Spanish) or Pamantasan NG Maynila (Tagalog). Both terms are commonly use in the Philippines.

In the Philippines, university is pamantasan in Tagalog and unibersidad in Filipino Tagalog is the pure language, while Filipino uses the borrowed words Another example is the word "department". In Filipino, it is departamento while in Tagalog, it is kagawaran Btw, love this video💖
@miow-g1m3 жыл бұрын
Tagalog words are also Filipino words but some Filipino words are not tagalog. (Not sure but I think it is). So kung ano man na tagalog words yan accepted pa din yan as filipino words. Like yung kagawaran and agham, these are still Filipino words.
@kstuffs29463 жыл бұрын
The video was fun and gives me good vibes and laughter but just to be clear po, ang Tagalog po ng University ay Pamantasan. "Unibersidad" is borrowed from Spanish Language.
