If the laptop was 210 quid, and he paid the women 100, why say knock 60 off when he could’ve just said I’ll give it to you for 110 then because 150 would mean he’d pay 190, which means he’d really only be knocking off 20? I just wrote all this down and forgot what I was talking about lol

That's how I was rip off £250 by a conman who sold me two bottles of water and a carbox in a laptop bag, instead of an Apple Mac Book. I felt so stupid to have fallen a victim of such scam and not used my common sense. It's preferable to be buying goods where it's legal to do so and knowing that your customer's rights are protected. Handed cash to complete strangers for the purchase of goods, is a criminal act that feeds into the black market. I have learnt my lesson the hard way and if it looks too good to be true, I will never be part of the scam. Even if you don't have the money right now, there are always second hand shops. Who knows, it could have been a real laptop, but a stolen property and I would have been in big trouble with the Law and my conscience would have never been at rest. Watch out and use your brain people! Greadiness can make you lose more than you bargain for.

"It's preferable to be buying goods where it's legal to do so and knowing that your customer's rights are protected. Handed cash to complete strangers for the purchase of goods, is a criminal act " Is it actually illegal to buy things secondhand in the UK? Obviously if they're stolen sure, but if someone is legitimately finished with some item, you can't buy it? That doesn't sound right

No, he'd take the 100 quid off the lens as well because the mark has paid it to Polly as a reward (which Alex was going to do anyway when the mark pays him). So 300 pounds lens minus 100 and minus 60 = 140 he has to pay.

Seems like quite a bit of work for 100 pounds. Plus 2 people involved makes it 50 each (typically). On top of that they have to lose a laptop bag and a flash drive. About 15 pounds there. And between setting it all up and execution of the plan there is like 45 minutes which is almost an hours wage. (Staging an advert on the internet and such too.) In the end you end up maybe 30 pounds richer. And then you gotta do it all again
