Pure Angelina. No glitz, no hoopla. Just walk up to the mic with minimal musical backing-and sing with that beautiful voice. And while you’re at it, make the audience understand what the song is really about. Elton’s hit recording was glam-rock that featured the music. I’ve heard it hundreds of times, and I could sing the chorus, but never thought about the lyrics. With Angelina, the meaning of the lyrics is crystal clear. As usual, her version of Yellow Brick Road is now the only one I want to hear-ever. No disrespect to Elton, or Adele, or Queen-but Angelina is the one singer in my life that I want to listen to every day. And I do.

Mr. J, this was my introduction to Angelina Jordan back at the start of the pandemic in the spring of 2020. I was blown away, but had so many questions: Who is this girl? Why am I crying? Why is she barefoot? Why do I have chills? Who is that child on her blouse? Why am I crying? Why have I never heard of her before? Needless to say, I have listened to her every day since, and probably will to my dying day.

@@1after909 I went to listen to Sara Bareillis again. Vero takes up that arrangement, but in my opinion improves it, makes it more fluid. Then add Angelina's unique and mesmerizing voice.

I’ve gone back to listen to Sara’s version and yes they are similar and Angelina probably based her version off of Sara’s but she still adds her own style to it. Just like with her version of I Put a Spell on You. she creates her own arrangement off of the original Screaming Jay Hawkins version. There are similarities but she does add her own touches.

All the praise she received from the judges makes the result of the final vote even more embarrassing. Angie's entourage knew that she was not going to win, she did not want to sign the mandatory exclusive contract with Simon, and the 'superfans' were so zealous in complying with their boss's instructions that she did not even finish in the top 3. Does anyone doubt the final result, if the vote had been from the public?

The natural abilities she has shown us since then have proven that time and again. It is often such an emotional experience listening to her sing. Angelina, IMO, creates her arrangements to give her interpretation of the song. It is all about telling the story and evoking the emotions of that story. MR. J SHOW, I encourage you along with everyone else, to watch episodes of the podcast, Wrapped in a Warm Blanket, where angels tell their stories of how Angelina's music makes them feel. I believe MR. To be fair to Sara Barreiles, this was her arrangement. Sara's version is very good as well, but AJ owns this now, for me. This is one of my top top AJ performances as she takes me on a nostalgic journey to my childhood. "Love is a Game" is the other one that consistently hits me in the gut.

Angelina is joined by Tyler Butler-Figueroa, a young violin player and Kseniya Simonova, a sand artist . You will see her sand art being displayed in the background on a large screen.
