Voting Republican for the second time in my life. Can't support Ms. Harris. Sending parents to jail for childhood truancy is not cool to me.
@scharrimadsen2498Ай бұрын
Well, if the parents aren't doing the parenting and making sure their kids are in school, they risk being arrested. How else are they going to be accountable? Kids need to be in school every day, on time. The school to jail pipeline is real, especially in reference to our young black males. She was trying to stop that, not just jailing parents to be mean. She developed a program for non violent, first time offenders to meet certain milestones like high school graduation, mental health issues addressed, etc. Upon meeting the milestones, their records would be cleared. This way they could have a better future, without one mistake ruining their lives.

There are no "Black" people. There are prescribed "Black"-like behaviors and expected treatment of people classified as "Black." "Black" = Authorized to be mistreated. Race is a political construct used to determine access to the physical and psychological resources needed to develop a high quality of life, which is characteristic of the condition called "peace." Within the system of RWS, how can people classified as "Black" achieve an existence identified as "peace-full" when peace, for people who practice, support, and defend RWS, means mistreating people classfied as "Black?" There are outliers for sure but stereotypes are legit for the most part. What’s great is we have the choice to follow those stereotypes or rise above them. Black communities arnt poor because of racism, they’re poor because of welfare and the destruction of black family’s. If racism was the main cause then male Asians wouldn’t be leading the US the with the highest avg earned annual income

Neither party has a clear policy on anything and instead rely on scaremongering about the other party. Once people choose a side then they project their own beliefs onto their party, based solely on hope, hearsay and annecdotes (eg the economy was better under x), not evidence. Indeed when it comes to domestic policies, it is mostly in the hands of states and the courts (i.e. everything they talked about here). As for foreign policy, no one supporting one of the major parties will touch that subject with a 6-foot pole. I wonder why....

Thank you so much for watching and for your comment! I agree too often people assume the black community is a monolith and it can be incredibly diverse. And although I agree these women may be outliers, they do represent a phenomenon that I have seen growing, which is sometimes represented by a rejection of voting in what many believe is a rigged system. In this general sense of dissatisfaction and distrust people turn to unusual or even controversial remedies. My greatest concern is seeing those who say they won't vote because "both sides are bad" or "doesn't matter." That sentiment is a great danger to the black community as many areas are becoming disenfranchised due to a rollback of voting rights, gerrymandering, removal of ballot boxes, etc. If the vote didn't matter our grandmothers and grandfathers wouldn't have had to endure poll taxes and tests or fight dogs and water hoses for the right to vote. That apathy concerns me the most as it appears contagious and would disempower an entire generation. Thank you so much for your thoughtful response. -taya
