Comedy legends they really are. Their work still remains as funny now as it was then.

There were really only two couples at the top, these two, and Morecambe & Wise! Both pairs were lifelong friends, they both rehearsed in the same studio, and between both sets there was never a cross word! There was a subtle difference in their comedy, they appreciated that, and all four appreciated the others! Ronnie B had a great series on his own called Poridge, set in a prison,I am not sure how well it would translate to an American audience, but give it a try?

I have just come across your KZbin video, featuring the absolutely amazing Two Ronnies. I grew up with these on the telly and still find them hilarious. Scoot forward to now, 2023, and there is no humour any more. Everybody takes offence at anything. And we now have a cacophony of weirdos who are biological men, insisting that they 'identify' as women. Please take me back to the good old days, when boys were boys, girls were girls, everybody could explain what a woman was. We are now living in a dystopian society, where everything we grew up with, has now turned upside down. I'm so glad you enjoyed the Two Ronnies, they are legends

I can heartily recommend The Worm That Turned which was an series of sketches that ran for a whole season that told a story. It’s set in a dystopian future where women took control of the world and men were forbidden from being masculine.the two Ronnies played a couple of housewives who rebelled against their oppressors and wore dresses through most of it. I believe that someone has put all instalments in one video on KZbin somewhere. It’s a hoot.

The two Ronnies were the Stars of a golden age of British TV comedy, with most of the great comedians having served their apprenticeship through the late 1940s , 1950s 1960s. We had an amazing crop never to be surpassed I am sure. Today the audiences wouldn't know they are alive, and most of the material used would upset and offend all the little flowers we now have making up the delicate population.. Coupled with this crop of great comedy actors was a whole host of very talented script writers Their material is too hot for today's dull audiences, if they can cancel J.K Rolling.. Keep up the good work Squirrel!

If you haven't already you need to react to Fawlty Towers, was ONLY 12 episodes made and starred John Cleese, Prunella Scales, Andrew Sachs and Connie Booth who at the time was John Cleese's wife. Was filmed in Torquay about a fictitious hotel that was based on a real one in Torquay and is hilarious, look for the hotel name at the start being tampered with by the kid with a black eye in the title scene, can remember him re-arranging the letters to say 'flowery twats' and 'watery tarts' at the start of two of them. Also Peter Kays 'Car Share' is also another one to watch. The episodes had signs at the road side or on buildings spread through the road journey that were saying funny things, blink and most missed them. Remember one sign at the side of the road saying: 'Lost, cheating husband. Last seen entering a whore, if found phone xxxxxxx' lol

One of the running comedy features of the 2Rs involved Corbett's small size. Giving him that huge guitar was done to emphasise this, as an opening gag, and although it was (as you indicated) rather 'over the top', it was kind of funny when you think of this aspect. (Not PC in these times, I suppose, as some might say it offends people of 'challenged height'. So I understand that some might not find it funny at all.)

It's nice to see that the Two Ronnies are still appreciated. I lived through the UK's "Alternative Comedy" era in the 1980s when all the old comedy was mocked and derided. When comedians had to be PC social & political commentators. Check out the "Two Ninnies" sketch on KZbin. This sketch was said to have really upset Ronnie Barker at the time.

I know Ronnie C gets your goat pretending to play guitar. But consider Monty Python and the Holy Grail where they used coconut shells instead of horses. No one was a qualified horseman, and it would have taken too long to train them. So, the extra comedy was decided upon. It was also a consensus that people might not even notice. 😀. Artistic licence my boy, artistic licence. 😆

Ronnie C was only 5ft 1, and that is likely why he always made for a more convincing looking woman than Ronnie B. For comedic reasons though, it made more sense to have Ronnie B doing the Dolly parody. 😂 Some of the Ronnies' musical numbers were awesome, and were all part of what made their shows so special. You should check out "The Vagabond Lover" and "Majorettes" for some more great comedic songs from them.
