In this video titled EU4 A to Z - This Start Is IMPOSSIBLE I do a playthrough as Dahomey in Europa Universalis 4 1.33 France. This is the series titled A to Z where I attempt to play every* nation in EU4 in alphabetical order. Of course I had to remove some nations so the challenge doesn't get too boring. In this video I play as the nation of Dahomey, and I attempt to conquer every province in the West Africa region in EU4 and convert them as well! So let's see if I managed to do it! @@rubenferreira5914 it's unknown but is suspected that the colony just declined because they were left to themselves. The thing is, it seems that they got here accidentally and were stuck there. It was theorized that at the time, they were derailed from their original course by very strong winds caused by the position of the earth around the sun at the time or whatnot. Years passed, earth continued on its way, the winds were slightly weaker and they were stuck.

Fun fact: during my world early modern history exam, one of the questions was to name 3 non islamic states in western africa. I remembered Oyo and Benin, but couldn't remember a 3rd one. Then i remembered the eu4 achivement for Dahomey and so i wrote down Dahomey. Needless to say, i can now proudly state that eu4 helped me get a C on that exam :)

I would love a Dahomey achievement guide, the A to Zs are awesome to see what kind of crazy stuff you can get away with but your guides and walkthroughs are super helpful to new players.

@@babuskavax increase autonomy actualy can help if you cant fight the rebel.

@@babuskavax Don't bother converting provinces or promoting cultures. Hire national unrest advisor, even if you have negative income. Increase autonomy if you can, but if they will rebel anyway, decrease it for more manpower and income. Also, as a Fetishist nation, you also get some national unrest and stability decisions/modifiers. Take out all Fetishist nations first, then conquer the Sunni nations in a blitzkrieg fashion. The fetishist lands won't give you that much rebels, it will be the Sunni ones. That's why having 2 vassals will help. Less rebellions for you, and they can help with your rebels. There is no need to be over 100% overextension here, you can take your time and still finish. And remember to always run Mercs all the time!

Dai Viet got unique ideas so shouldnt they be next? Annam and Tonkin which shares the ideas are splinter states that can pop out of them and not starting nations.

Dai Viet is such a great nation. One of the most fun nations to become the emperor of China with really nice ideas and a good mission tree.

As Delhi: Go East with your expansions -> Take defensive Ideas -> Surround the nation of U with forts -> enable defensive edicts in all provinces -> Rival them if possible -> Declare a war on them and conclude the video with a loud and clear: "U SHALL NOT PASS!!!"

Feels like if you're in West Africa you have to take Exploration or Expansion first so you can colonize the coast just to keep Europe out.

Don't necessarily need to, just for that. It's fairly straightforward getting those provinces later. Taking those ideas to Go colonial, however, is definitely a good strategy.

i hope one of season Fs goals is to colonize all of Florida, dont care which and as Delhi you could do the reverse of that New New Delhi achievement where instead of conquering Delhi as Deli you conquer Deli as Delhi

Dai Viet should be next right? If so was gonna suggest doing a full vietnam war scenario where u try defensive ideas and seeing how long u can last against someone like ming (cos US wont exist). Also saw someone suggest conquer france to reverse colonise it so the ming war can be a fun side mission to get some funds and power base to attack europe. If not than for delhi you could try doing a conquest and conversion to islam for all the Indian subcontinent. Or maybe if you are willing to put some time into it try and conquer as many spice provinces in india, the middle east and south-east asia to make the best curries for the sultan

Sometimes, when I'm hungry I go to the deli to grab some meat. As Delhi go conquer the livestock provinces in Asia. But since Delhi has Hindu provinces everywhere, there's not gonna be much value in those livestock provinces. Probably would go bankrupt.

Wait, shouldn't Dai Viet be next, it has unique ideas and missions. I would like for you to strike back against Vietnam conquers; own China, and even though it hasn't happened yet, own France. With a bonus of obviously colonizing South East Asia and North America. If you can, spawn colonialism institution. It's a personal goal of mine when I play Dai Viet, well not France, to far for me. I just conquer India and all of East Asia to stop trade from going west.

Since Denmark doesn't exist, when you get to them, you should try to form a different nation within 50 years. Pomerania or Prussia would probably be the easiest.

Made me feel good about myself when you said that Dahomey is one of the hardest achievements. I mean, I struggle with everything except building infantry, declaring wars and taking provinces (I'm a very greedy player...) yet I did it on the second run after first failed start.

Without a doubt it is one of the hardest. A lot of people think Byzantium is hard. It's not . Not nearly as hard as Dahomey achievement

Those provinces near Jolof start uncolonised but if you're playing as Europeans they're ususally colonised by the time you see them from the Fulo event (MttO of 36 months) which is why it looks unusual.
