@@mybro727 I work at a dealership in sales. Theres something called leasing, where you are only renting a portion of the vehicle. You're only renting 30 to 50% (depending on the length of the lease) so no, you're not paying more. And even if you're rich, no one really forks out 100k+ one-time to cash buy out the vehicle. They can lease under their business for lots of tax incentives. They will use that 100k to invest or put it something else. All german luxury depreciates like a stock market crash. Anyone (rich or not) with a common sense wouldn't buy the vehicle straight up, since you're losing so much money.

Sure they can, but they simply CANNOT engineer reliability into their beautiful vehicles! Mercedes cant BMW certainly cant Audi is a bit better but still not great and VW cant either. Come on Germans! Over 100 years of building cars and you haven't figured out how to engineer and manufacture a quality dependable reliable and durable vehicle on a consistent basis! It's not that hard! Ask Lexus! Only been around since 1989 a have completely EARNED their reputation for all of the above attributes! Not denying the beauty and fun factor of your vehicles but in order to be truly successful there has to be a measure of consistency when it comes to reliability in your brand to justify the premium prices you demand.

If you look after any car like you're supposed to, they'll last forever. Mercedes has the largest R&D budget in the auto industry. Inline 6’s don’t like to rev high rpm they have a very long crankshaft so it’s spinning a lot of excess weight. 6500 rpm is extremely high rpm for a straight 6, you can build it to rev higher but you lose a lot of low end torque which is why engine manufacturers use the I6 to begin with.
