I always felt that Peter Coyote was protecting Shane West’s character from Mandy Moore as much as he was protecting MM from SW. He knew what it felt like to be a man in love with a woman who dies too soon, and part of his reticence with the relationship was because he knew what pain SW was headed for when he did fall in love with Mandy Moore and inevitably lost her to the disease.

I read the book after my 7th rewatch of the movie, and the one part that really stuck out to me was the reason why it's called A Walk to Remember. In the book, by the time the wedding took place, Jamie couldn't walk anymore because of her illness, and the last time she managed to walk was down the aisle during their wedding, hence why it was a walk to remember. I didn't think I would cry because I already knew the ending, but I wept for a good solid hour. Edit: Also, another memorable film (and now a Netflix show) is "One Day," if you're planning to do another one of these Valentine's Day-themed movies.

@sarahahahahaahh
@sarahahahahaahh 6 ай бұрын
@@agumontaichi422 This is an excerpt from the book, in the final chapter during the wedding: "My mom was in the front row, dabbing her eyes with her handkerchief when the “Wedding March” began. The doors opened and I saw Jamie, seated in her wheelchair, a nurse by her side. With all the strength she had left, Jamie stood shakily as her father supported her. Then Jamie and Hegbert slowly made their way down the aisle, while everyone in the church sat silently in wonder. Halfway down the aisle, Jamie suddenly seemed to tire, and they stopped while she caught her breath. Her eyes closed, and for a moment I didn’t think she could go on. I know that no more than ten or twelve seconds elapsed, but it seemed much longer, and finally she nodded slightly. With that, Jamie and Hegbert started moving again, and I felt my heart surge with pride. It was, I remembered thinking, the most difficult walk anyone ever had to make. In every way, a walk to remember.” I interpret this as the reason why the book is called what it is.

My dad had this movie on an external hard drive and when I was playing with it and exploring it, I found this movie and immediatly fell in love with. If I remember well, at that time, he was bedridden, extremely exhausted and even mentally he wasn't all there. Now, It's been more than a decade, and papa passed after a long and painful battle with illness. I miss him dearly. He loved movies and I love them too, but he died so soon that we never got to the stage where you become friends with your parent, and we never got to be movie buds which I'm sure we would have been. Yet, without even knowing it, he somehow could reach through all the obstacles and recommend me a few movies that have a special place in my heart to this day, the dearest being this one. Miss you, papa. Love you forever.

This was so beyond enjoyable to watch. I was 12 or 13 when I read the book and cried like the literal baby I was and then waited for the movie impatiently. I've always been a big Mandy fan and seeing this experienced all this time later by you two as you swoon, make jokes and tear up simultaneously brought me pure joy today. Thank you ❤

A beautiful film. So she was in high school when she made this film. She had to have an on set tutor. It's also a true story.

Loved crying alongside you! ❤ Thank you for this reaction! I SOBBED much more during the book It's called " a walk to remember" because in the wedding scene she was so sickly while walking down the aisle, he didn't care he loved her anyway.

Greg’s realization that Jamie is dying is so funny and yet so relatable to the first time i watched a walk to remember😭 “is she dying or something???” and then John immediately saying “oh no☹️ is it gonna be one of those??” sadly yes, but great video as always from my favorite reactors!!!💗💗💗

I always like to think of this movie as not just a romantic love story, but a godly one: God's love towards Landon and Jamie's father, bringing them to each other's lives through Jamie. If Jamie died without meeting Landon, his life have taken a turn for the worst, and also her father would have been alone. But in meeting and losing Jamie, they had one another. I thought that was just so lovely.
