Hey guys. I'm so glad you reacted to this film. Guy Ritchie did an excellent job with this remake of the 60's television series. Part of his genius was the reversal of actors as the lead stars. Casting Henry Cavill (British) as Napoleon Solo and Armie Hammer (American) as Illya Kuriyakin was inspirational because it was the exact opposite of actors on the television series. Robert Vaughn (American) was Napoleon Solo and David McCallum (British/Irish) played Illya the Russian. Man From U.N.C.L.E. purists hated it and many actively boycotted the movie. I grew up loving the TV show, but absolutely loved this interpretation. I'm very excited to hear there's talk of a sequel.

I know he had an affair with his accuser, but Gloria Allred (famous for taking cases that protect women's rights) dropped her as a client. That happened after she refused to sign a formal declaration under penalty of perjury if falsified. While Allred wouldn't speak on the specifics of the matter the chronological sequence of those events speaks volumes. She thought her client was lying and dropped her as a client. Hammer was canceled, but every indication is that while he, admittedly, engaged in BDSM sex it was consensual. The police could find no evidence of his having committed a crime, while ample evidence of the online "evidence" being falsified has been uncovered. His biggest mistake, in short, was sticking his dick in crazy. Disney waited until a conviction was secured before dropping Jonathan Majors, but at the beginning of the Me Too movement neither the public nor the studios felt the need to do that. Hammer could rehabilitate his image, if he chose, but it'd be an uphill battle because no one will make a massive story out of "There is no evidence he did anything illegal " the way they did "He is accused of rape and threatening cannibalism. "

Guy Ritchie crafts another stellar story, and while all of the cast are amazing, I think this is one of Hugh Grant's best performances. And Colin Farrell as the coach is fantastic too. 0:08 - NAPOLEON SOLO. The 1960s TV series, The Man from U.N.C.L.E., was devised as an American James Bond-type spy series with the main protagonist, Napoleon Solo, portrayed by Robert Vaughan (one of the original Magnificent Seven). Initially about a lone operative (hence the name, 'Solo'), a second main character was introduced to appeal to a younger female demographic. This blonde, slim, handsome Russian by the name of Illya Kuryakin became Solo's partner, and was portrayed by British actor, David McCallum. McCallum gained renewed international popularity for his role as NCIS medical examiner Dr. Donald "Ducky" Mallard in the American television series 'NCIS', which he played for 20 seasons until his death in September 2023. He was 90 years old. Cool fact. Like Robert Vaughan, McCallum also appeared on film with Steve McQueen. They both appeared in 'The Great Escape'.

Guy Ritchie is always full of style and quick dialogue, but his narratives and plots are usually deeper and more complex than this. However, this stands unique among his catalogue with a very different aesthetic that elevates it for me, even though it is probably my least favorite flick of his.
