My mom shared a beautiful story with me when I was younger. When she was driving, she saw a man begging for money. She initially refused because she'd seen him in the past; he actively did drugs on the streets. Something in her made her want to give anyway. She gave $20 and watched him from afar. He went to his friends and gathered them all to McDonald's on the corner with him. He bought meals for all of them. She couldn't believe it. I know it is sometimes hard to give when it can possibly feed horrible addictions, but there's still that chance it can be the opportunity to feed someone. I hope you take this with a grain of salt ❤ I also learned a lot from your video. Last but not least, I believe angels sometimes disguise themselves as homeless so I would be horrified if ever found out I denied giving to a homeless because of fear for drug use

Thank you so much for this video. I definitely feel like I have a Scrooge mentality when it comes to my money and don’t give back as much as I can. I’m also trying to come back to the faith but can’t seem to make the final step. Your videos really help 😊

Thanks for this series. I like how you fully defined them and what is particularly good is you give strategies to not fall prey.

This is good stuff! Currently reading Noche Oscurra by St John of the cross where he describes the challenges that beginners to prayer face, and be does this in terms of the seven deadly sins. I have to keep reminding myself; the guy didn’t know me and he lived 400 years ago! Haven’t gotten to greed yet but i honestly can’t wait. Cardinal virtues would be awesome though, everyone knows about the deadly sins when they should be learning the virtues - myself included! (Trust Hollywood to only make deadly sins heard of am i right😂) Good stuff as always Amber! God bless 🕯️

Hello Religious Hippie, This is my first time making a comment on one of your videos. And since this is the last video, I have to be honest. I've done some excessive purchasing with my American express card at several places whether it was CVS or Amazon or Temu. And sometimes I didn't know when to stop spending and sometimes I had no money at all. And as for Catholic churches doing acts of kindness to people who are down on their luck and are less fortunate, I highly commended it. At one of my Catholic churches in Hartford CT. Holy Trinity and it's priest has done a lot of good work and charity to people who are less fortunate such as inviting them to meal events. Like on Christmas day 2023. He invited the homeless people to his church for a Christmas meal event and I could tell they were deeply satisfied by what he did and what happened. And as being greedy, I really should stop spending foolishly and start becoming cautious with my American express credit card. And I was going to say that Lent starts next month on Valentine's Day. And I'm hoping you can do videos on the Liturgical season of Lent and how to prepare us Catholics for it.

Can you refuse when someone asks you for something? Like the little boy who sells snacks to whom I give money almost frequently when I see him, because it seems to have a negative effect, because he has learned to ask for money and when I tell him to share what I give him he does not share it. It troubles me, because it feels like I am doing more harm than good. There is also this man I know, a friend(not very close) who borrowed money from me and I lent him three times pomising he would pay it at the end of december. But he did not pay me, and what's more is that he still keeps on borrowing from me forgetting his promise. Now, I just ignore his messages, although he does not get tired of it, because I don't know what he uses the money for. I am someone who does not remind anyone of what they owe me. I have made it my principle no matter what, I just let them remember it. And most of the time people forget about it and it's fine by me. But I just do not know, whether we need prudence in giving. Is it bad to withhold, since Jesus seems to ask us to give without ceasing?. I would not mind giving or helping someone who really needs it though.

Someone purposely not giving you the money they owe could hurt you. If you lose all your money you won't be able to help someone who actually needs it. In this case you absolutely do not have to keep letting him take money from you

Giving goes both ways. That person should be as considerate as you if they follow the Lord. Forgive them in your heart and move on. You don’t have to confront them, just speak to the Lord about it, be honest, and pray for them to be better, so they don’t come across someone that can be cruel and ask their money back in dangerous ways. We are called to give, but to be careful and not to fall, too. Pro 17, 17-18 Sir 29, 14-20 (NRSV-CE)
