Thank you Remnant Radio. I think this was needed after having Mark Ward on. I think Dr Sief is spot on. I grew up in my early years as a Baptist/pentacostal. But I always wondered why we Christian’s would celebrate something different than what Jesus did. My questions were answered when I met my best friend who grew up messianic Jewish. I would go to “schule” ( messianic Jewish Sunday school ) on Saturday mornings with her family. It was beautiful. I loved to see the Jewish traditions they kept in their home. Making challa bread, saying the different prayers for the lights and the food etc. It helped me gain an understanding of Jesus’ Jewish roots. I believe the TLV does exactly that. Yes it may be “niche” but I think we could all benefit from this translation in our collections. I especially love the Greek present tense in the NT. I feel like it makes the story come alive. Also, I appreciate that every pronoun attributed to God and Jesus is capitalized.

I am not Jewish, but the TLV bible is my favorite translation. As Dr. Seif said, the TLV wonderfully opens my eyes to the Jewish culture within the Jesus story. It also helps me understand and relate to my dear Messianic brothers and sisters in my own city. 🙏❤

The Tree of Life Version is such a Blessing ! It is a real Gift for so many reasons, the roots of our faith are so beautifully shown, Yeshua Messiah was born, lived, walked, taught, was crucified and rose to the Glory at the right Hand of Most High God as the Jewish Messiah ! He Is The King. Keep the Sabbath Holy is One of the Ten Commandments, the Feasts of the Bible were given to Moses on Mount Sinai. Those of us who did not have the Blessing of being raised in either a Messanic or Christian Families and Churches that taught the entire Old and New Testiments clearly have missed out on so many vital teachings!

Thank you for hosting Dr. Seif! That was my biggest criticism from the review with Mr. Ward. Thank you for responding and keeping the door open to other view points. I agree the sectarian criticism was harsh and I felt it told Jewish believers in Yeshua, like myself, to scrub away our Jewish identity yo fit into the larger believing body. We're not all hands, or feet, or eyes in the Body- so it makes sense that we all work (or translate) a little differently. Definitely prefer the niche connotation. I will answer better to one question - those within the Messianic movement would know what 'lashon hara' meant and other phrases. And for those who are newer to the Messianic Jewish way of worship, would be taught the meanings/traditions etc. Just like if i were to attend a church, I would have a learning curve to better understand your colloquialisms and traditions. Again, thank you to Remnant Radio for allowing another view point speak to yhis topic!

I also cherish the Prayers, emphasis on the importance of Family, and the Art work. My two daughters and I began keeping the Sabbath Holy twenty three years ago, that changed our lives, then this Tree of Life Bible version was found, Oh Happy Day. I also recommend the music from the concerts by Joshua Aaron, Live at the Tower of David and Live at the Garden Tomb. One last thing to share are the archeological findings by Ron Wyatt, all found on KZbin. May the Lord Bless you All.

TLV is one of my favorite. I love the way he explained Hebrew Roots. I am not Jewish, and don't want to try to live as a Jew, but I do observe the 7th day Sabbath, celebrate the appointed Feasts and eat clean meats. But I do these things I enjoy doing these things. I was led by the Holy Spirit to do these things (lol, it took 15 years for me to understand what I was being led to do). But I also celebrate Christmas as a time for our family to gather together. But I love my Jewish brothers and sisters and would never want to offend them.

I am in that same boat ,Terry. First I wanted to stop celebrating Christmas. But my 3 girls and their families were not convinced of my new understanding of the Lord's feasts. It's a wonderful time for family gatherings, so I love that. We play dirty Santa with each of us bringing one gift. Takes the pressure off for me. Just glad I met someone who has come to the same conclusion.

As a hopeful, bride-to-be of Yeshua, I wanted to learn as much about him as possible before the marriage. Learning the Second Temple Jewish mindset helped me to better understand the Word. (Also, in our Messianic congregation of Jews and Gentiles, we refer to ourselves as "Messianic Believers" rather than "Messianic Christians". Some ethnic Jews also call themselves "Messianic Jews"). Thanks for the topic!

I have used the Hebrew Names, TLV and CJB. I find the Hebrew Names and TLV my favourites. I believe it is critical to study, embrace and use the many names of God for several reasons, primarily because they point to the attributes of God -- the very character and nature of the One we are to emulate. I do not see enough emphasis on the Characteristics of God among Christians. I believe that is core to understanding ANY scripture. These versions help me to do that. I can more easily identify the the particular trait, attribute or form of God (plurality, etc) so I can better understand the text I am studying, and apply what I am learning about who is God. I am personally very thankful for this version but I will also note it is my go to supplemental preference, not primary version as I study.

I'm glad you guys had Dr.Seif on this interview. I appreciate his spirit and demeanor. I agreed with him that the TLV could be described as a niche Bible ( largely for the Jewish Christian/Messianic Jewish Community ) instead of using the moniker 'sectarian '. I think that term is unwarranted but ,more so, has some unsettling connotations . Thanks again for this interview. I haven't seen your other shows on debunking cessationism. I haven't seen MacArthur's cessationist conference if this is in reference to it. Nor the related movie. I've gotta see your videos responding to cessationist claims. Thanks for your efforts. God bless.

Thank you for this I was a bit irritated at the interview against the TLV…I had a Messianic Jewish Shared Heritage Bible that was my everyday Bible I gave it to someone in need and found myself missing it so much, I had to find another and am so glad I did!! I love it and for me being Messianic I prefer the language that I and others I worship and study with use

I personally have used it to reach Jewish people. Having a grasp of the Jewish context of the Bible and a grid for Jewish culture and using some of the Hebrew language has been helpful in making that connection to Jews. Even just the order of the scripture makes it more approachable to Jews since it matches the Hebrew order closer.

I tuned in to this live a few hours ago (in the middle of the night in Asia). I felt the format was not good. The hosts would tell the "defender" (Seif) what the skeptic (Ward) was saying about TLV (I also watched that episode). What did they expect? Of course, Seif would take the words of Ward negatively, no matter how courteous Ward expressed his opinions (and the hosts kept saying this). It was just awkward! Maybe the hosts could not (or would not) want to pit the two together (whether possible or not), but that would have been better. Seif would hear the comments directly from Ward and they could have a healthy exchange and we can have a better understanding of the issue. (I also watch Ward's YT videos regularly.)

The NIV is not the Word of God. Even the new King James is twisted, how can every word of God be pure with all these versions. The only hope i have in this situation is the verse Job 14:9 - at the scent of water it will bud
@jeffbarrett411 Жыл бұрын
Changing words breaks the chain link between verses and hides further, hidden meanings (the mystery of Christ, the mystery of the gospel) one scripture comes to mind: the narrow gate NIV, the narrow strait KJV, completely different meanings gate & strait; this word swaping decimates the power of the Word - it is vitally important considering God is the Word. Probably the first english version would be most pure if it matches the scrolls. Has God Himself chosen the KJV to be His Word to english speakers. I don't know. But changing the Word to satisfy carnal minds instead of allowing it to supernaturally operate freely is Satan at work, clearly
